We have been going to Mitato-Nafplio every summer for the past 8 years for a superior gyro and souvlaki. This year, instead of gyros fastfood, we found a burger restaurant, with prices as a regular greek taverna. First of all, this is a fastfood equipped place. Not a taverna. You cannot sit there for an hour and enjoy your meal. There are no classic Greek gyros anymore, but a variation of it, that comes in a portion, with price of 9.2 EURO. The portion of gyros in the last year had similar price, but way out more to eat. Practically, 2 adults could properly eat. There are more options for burgers and other items in the menu, that are not tradditional Greek. There are better places and choices for this money in the strict neighborhood. The second disappointment was that after we paid the bill (by a credit card), we encountered that a tip of 3 to 4 euro was added to it, without our consent. So, if you go there, check the bill before...

When I inquired about the price, the waiter indicated that the gyro was bigger than average on a special pita. Well, it was bigger, not twice as big as a regular gyro. The pita bread was very bready and dry. The meat portion was less than what I had received on the so called expensive Cyclades islands for a single gyro. The pita bread was cold. The gyro was more bready than anything else. As for the price, I have paid for what’s called a portion(meritha) of gyro at a sit down restaurant served by a waiter at a higher price than the 4.40 euros for a single take away euro. I have in fact paid 13 euros and was previously satisfied with the meal. This particular gyro, meritha(portion) or handheld was very disappointing, and I’m not a fussy eater. I would not...
Read more#CeliacReviews: Excellent experience. Many of the souvlaki options are naturally gluten-free and prepared with GF French fries, plus optional pita from Marinos Kosmas GF bakery in Athens. We got the pork and the wild boar souvlaki, and both were delicious (and more than I could eat in one sitting). The staff was kind, helpful, and reassuring.
A couple notes:
