Epoch House — Hotel in Municipality of Nafplio

The location and the rooms are great. Unfortunately there are works to the building attached to the hotel, which is noisy and dusty. Clearly you don’t get much privacy during these hours. The rooms are on Syntagma square, so there is constant noise from underneath, but to be expected. Once the balcony doors are shut, you can’t hear anything. The other negative was that you can’t adjust the room temperature to cold or hot ; the whole building is set on either, so you don’t have a choice. In this case, our room was getting hot but keeping the windows open wasn’t a great idea due to the noise from the square. I brought it up to the team, but said they couldn’t anything about it. Another negative point was body odour from one of the team members, which was rancid. Breakfast arrangements are strange as you need to preorder the day before. Breakfast quality and variety are mediocre. Service ok but again nothing special. You get a welcome drink and a nibble, which in our case was a glass of water and spoon orange sweet. For the price tag, one would expect a lot more especially around breakfast and service. The asking price is way over the service offered currently; in comparison I had only come back from Mykonos , where I stayed at 5 star for nearly half the price per night and the service , quality and breakfast were impeccable . Finally Nafplio itself fails to impress anymore. I have visited the city plenty of times but in this instance, I found it rundown , with tons of graffiti, the famous walk to Arvanitia locked due to lack of lights and hordes of school...

The Epoch house is located in the heart of the city. The owner and the staff are the heart of the hotel and they are always willing and kind to help and go the extra mile. The quality of the materials in the rooms is remarkable and the lighting is controlled by a tablet. At the end of the breakfast, which is an important positive element for the hotel, it is offered in large trays either in the room or in the breakfast room. It is completely personalized, with tasty products and sufficient quantities that their freshness exceeds that of a buffet. Epoch House generally offers you the sensation that you are receiving premium hosting services at reasonable prices and you will hardly find anything negative to point out. A fine, well appointed hotel in a great location and made extra special by Sotiria, who is the very soul and heart of this hotel. What she cannot do, or cannot advise upon, does not exist. Not sure what her actual work description is but in reality she does everything and so very well! We called her Super Woman. An epithet that fits most aptly. The room was well thought out. It had everything. Great view of the main square, double glazing, mosquito screen, balcony with table and chairs, wood flooring, a huge Coconut bed, a wardrobe, modern safe, 6 bottles of wine to choose from, an espresso and tea making area, bottled water, a lighting and environment control system operated by e-tablet, a very clean and modern bathroom.
