I recently stayed at Ilion Hotel in Nafplio, Greece — and honestly, it was one of the most magical hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
The building itself is over 400 years old, full of character and charm. Every room and suite is uniquely decorated, with its own theme, colors, and atmosphere. From classic furniture to vintage art and stunning details, the whole place feels like a living museum.
Every corner is a piece of art — and when you’re inside, you truly feel like royalty. The rooms and bathrooms were incredibly clean, and as a warm welcome, they even offered a carafe of local wine.
The hospitality was amazing. Breakfast was all homemade and absolutely delicious — especially the cheese and spinach pies. I still think about them!
There’s a lovely Brazilian lady on the staff who’s so kind and genuinely cares about the guests’ comfort. And then there’s Tanos — what a special person. His love for what he does really shows. He made us feel like we were staying with family, like we’d known him for years.
Honestly, I can’t wait to return. Ilion Hotel is not just a place to stay — it’s an experience. And without a doubt, it will be my one and only choice next time...
Read moreIlion hotel-suites what a pleasant surprise! In the late 90s we spent our entire holiday at ilion hotel so reading the negative reviews really shocked us. For a decade we have longed to return to nafplion to relive our memories of the breathtaking views. So we took the risk and booked, taking full advantage of the 50% discount due to covid-19. We were surprised to find that the ilion hotel-suites have been freshly refurbished under new management but maintain the style and elegance we remember. Staff were cheerful and helpful (they even helped us get a 3-day museum pass and a day cruise to the islands). Its great location in the historic centre meant that we had everything at our fingertips (restaurants, shops, bars etc...). We think this is the most romantic and atmospheric hotel we have ever stayed in and we give it top marks...
Read moreStaying at the Ilion Hotel in Napflio was a great start to our trip in the Peloponnese. We loved our two night stay here in May and the town. The hotel has different themed decorated rooms adding to its rich history, character and charm. We chose the Suite of Sun and it did not disappoint. The hotel is centrally located in the old town part of Napflio. There are many nice restaurants and shopping in the area. The manager Elias and his staff were all friendly and helpful. Elias had great suggestions for the area for touring and driving around this part of the Peloponnese. The staff really all are a happy group working together and it shows in the vibe of the place. Breakfast was a nice start to the day there too! Thank you Elias and your staff for...
