Nafplio located on the Peloponnese area was rated as the prettiest town in Greece on CNN in 2021/22. We agree. My husband and I took my then 80 year old Malaysian mother in May 2022. The drive was about 2 hours from Glyfada. On the way, one could also stop over at a Mycenaean archaeological site. Nafplio has an artsy vibe to it. The old town's square is full of restaurants, tavernas, gelatos and cafes. There are many small lanes and alleys with shops selling locally produced artisanal products. There is a large fort, and when you drive up to a large parking bay next to it, and make your way down there is a lovely beach. My husband had his first swim for the 2022 season there.
