Naxos Bakery — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

If I could give it a Zero star, I would have. Not very welcoming, it was as if we were an inconvenience to be buying anything. The smells before walking in were always delicious though we tried the sweet cream pastry which was the worst In our three weeks in Greece, and our third attempt today was an assortment of baklava since it seemed the only bakery near us that made any. Oh what a mistake and waste of calories, not to mention money to have bought any. Never had baklava taste like this. They all tasted soggy, old and not flavorful. It’s a splurge to eat baklava for us and this was so disappointing. Not sure how long they have sat around. Will never go back to this bakery and thankfully there are several others much better and with friendly bakers in town! We wanted this one to be great since the smells have been all week walking by. For our 4 days in Naxos, we are staying nearby to Naxos Bakery...well, we stopped in on our first night in the area and been back every morning and every night since! Marilena(on the latter day shift) absolutely made our stay. Thanks to her infectious laugh and willingness to answer any question we had with a smile, we tried sooooo many things in the shop. And we can report that each one was amazing! Of particular note, the dark chocolate braid and the cinnamon bun are incredible, but don't sleep on the ice cream. Horrible service! I purchased ice cream on sticks and there was a sign that the kg is 18 euros. My ice creams were 100 gr and she charged me 3 euros instead! Almost 50% more than what she should have!

When I asked she said it’s like this! It costs 1 euro per piece up to 500gr

BUT THERE IS NO SIGN INFORMING of THAT!

She was mean, laughtering in my face very disrespectful and making fun because of the amount in question?

It’s not a matter of the amount but of dignity and kind service.

She should acknowledge their lack of info and prices which obliges them to supply by law on that and fix her mistake,...
