The Taverna Naxos Island Hotel — Restaurant in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We randomly came across this rooftop hotel restaurant, sadly our excitement was short-lived. Despite the great panoramic view and kindness at the front desk, we won’t be returning, nor recommending. Once up there, the atmosphere changed completely, with one waiter verbally abusing and obnoxiously shouting at another waiter from across the rooftop, making all the tables super uncomfortable. The food was terribly greasy and bland for all five of us. And definitely not worth the price we paid.

Sadly, we barely ate what was in our plates and didn’t even bother taking doggy bags. Staff noticed this and asked, so we politely explained that the food wasn’t great and why. At least they inquired, but our overall experience was very poor.

Hopefully this review helps then make some changes to their menu. But most of all, to their toxic and stressful work...

We lived in Agios Prokopios and tried out different restaurants every night. If you are looking for a nice place for dinner with a superb view this is a great choice! Don't hesitate to make your way up to the roof top of the hotel away from the crowded places in town. The friendly staff welcomed us in a really warm way. The service was great and the Gnocchi were unbelievably good and prices very reasonable. Fresh products. Seabream was ok, but the side for it was not tasty at all (very sour). One of the staff members was too loud and we wanted to sit in a more calm and relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the view from the roof. Plus, they are trying to clean after you eat as fast as possible not giving you a chance to just sit and relax.
