Located in a historical building, Village House is camouflaged with one of many artistic doors in beautiful Lindos. From the moment that you enter, to the food, atmosphere and heartwarming hospitality, this one of a kind family business will have you wanting to come back for more ;) The hosts will totally go out of their way just to see their guests happy and sound. Especially Paula is a sweetheart that won't miss an opportunity to assist in making the guests feel just like home! Don't worry about communication because the service at Village House is multi-lingual. The restaurant spreads over two floors, the rooftop offering and amazing view over Lindos roofs and the Acropolis. Clientele is pretty international and diverse. The latter is a good attribute for the menu as well. From meze to fresh fish, seafood, meat or vegetarian options and an amazing home made baklava - if you have extra requests, this incredible family will make it happen! It was 6 of us traveling together and we really got stuck with Village House after following a recommendation from one of the local shops. We tried almost everything on the menu, wine, beer, all starters, fresh grilled fish (the tuna steak is to die for!), pasta (try it with squid!), risotto, meat, the kids menu and the deserts (baklava is out of space!). It's maybe hard to please a whole table of six, but we felt like we are in home food heaven and are amazed by the outstanding hospitality! Sometimes you have to wait a little longer for your food. This happens during busy hours and because everything is home-made and freshly prepared. I know for a fact, it is worth the wait ;) By the way, the prices are very down to earth considering the excellent quality of service and food. So if you happen to visit Lindos, don't miss out on Village House for the genuine experience! To make sure you don't have to wait, it's best to have a reservation. We will definitely come back - thank you very much for spoiling us with your...
Read moreHands down the BEST place to eat in Lindos. We found the Village House a few days before heading home last year and fell in love with it. This year, we ate there every single night. We just worked our way through the menu. Compared to other restaurants, I love how relaxed, unpretentious and friendly it is. And they really cater for kids which is a huge one for us. I'm big on three things: service, cleanliness, and value for money. And this restaurant delivers on all three. It's a family-run restaurant and Aris and his daughter are so welcoming. His two waitresses, Lata and Anna are amazing. Really chatty and super helpful. They remember everything. For instance, my kids don't like oregano on their chips (what's wrong with them?) and they never forgot that detail. Plus, they'd second guess the kids on their drinks. I even lamented one night that they didn't do decaf coffee as I love a coffee after dessert, and Aris went to Lindos town to get me some especially for the following night. That is service, people. The food is outstanding. And the house wine is excellent. Even the locals eat here and I think that says everything. The views are incredible. You're literally right under the acropolis. Nothing is too much trouble and you're treated like friends. I promise you, you won't be...
Read moreThis was our second attempt on 3rd of Aug '18 to trust the inviting person downstairs in front of one of the several Lindos' roof terrace restaurants that they will provide a table for us with really nice view to the castle. It wasn't our last. After the employees of the 'Mythos' managed to find the only place on their roof where this view is hidden, the ones of this restaurant did the same. They found a place in a corner of two walls where we could neither see the castle nor the old town below itself - in contrary to what was promised to lure us upstairs. We sat a while mourning about this circumstance when a waiter stepped beside our table, avoiding any eye contact, only to look into his tablet, then chatting loudly over our heads to other waiters, then leaving our table again without saying a word to us. That was enough. We left the roof for our third attempt under huge and insulting protests of the employees who claimed to have prepared the (empty) table for ten minutes just for us. Ironically we found our roof heaven just up that very wall where we were...
