The place is historically a monument well preserved and open to the public to visit as a quiet bar - coffee house and offers a nice snacks if someone is hungry.. the floor is a wonderful mosaic, and the excellent preserved (real captain’s home) house gives the opportunity to go back to history exploring the great way of living. The owner (Savas) is extremely friendly and polite ready to help you with information about the history of his place , and also the hot spots on the island for excellent food and visiting places outside of tourist areas. Take a time to visit the small little shop with books of poems of his stepson - unfortunately in Greek language, who described love and compassion with nice simple words touching deep inside the heart. Definitely a place to keep in my heart and if possible...
Read moreActually an interesting historical location, which is mentioned firstly as a historical ! place in a german travel giude, but it is primarily a BAR, typical tourist place in Lindos, overpreised, where tourists are seen as money machines. The owner said again, that it is his business and it is his right to decide, whom to let in and whom not. Our mistake (sorry for that faux pas) was to continue this rude dialogue and to reply that we as visitors who are potential customers also can decide, if we want to be his customers. The owner was outraged and said, that we have to go! With pleasure! Thank you for this...

It's a very pleasant oasis amongst the madding crowds on the path, especially if you like ambient non-Greek(!) relaxing music. My wife liked the soothing music and I did too for the first 5 or ten minutes - but don't come here if you like more variety in the background music. I think the tape was a single piece on a loop... pleasant and calming to start, driving you potty by the end. However I do agree with other reviewers that the original "house" at the back of the bar is well worth a visit. It is effectively a museum, and quirklily fascinating. Check out the Gents! I wasn't in need but I wish I had gone just to have a look. The house and old relics are well...
