Kati Ap' Ola — Restaurant in Municipality of Thessaloniki

**Since my first review in August 2022, I have been here multiple times now and the high quality of service and food is consistently great. *

It is very rare I give 5*'s, especially in Thessaloniki but based upon my first visit today as I found myself just passing by after a business meeting nearby, I am very happy to tell everyone that the Ελληνικοί μεζέδες that I had today was εξαιρετικό!

It was perfectly cooked, well presented and delicious. (Note, I did not have meat or fish dishes so I cannot comment on those items).

The service was attentive and efficient. Staff was helpful by doing their job well AND also by immediately and discreetly switching to English when I got stuck with a few new Greek words. Unlike many others, they did so without being patronizing. (I really appreciated that).

Portion size was perfect even for a 1.8m tall gym guy like me, the style and ambience of the room was clean, bright and stylish.

Finally, the prices offered great value for money.

I highly recommend 'Κατη Απ' Όλα', and that coming from someone who is as fussy and pedantic about food and service quality as I am - is really saying something.

Bei unserem Besuch in einem tollen Restaurant etwas abseits vom Zentrum von Thessaloniki wurden wir mit einer Vielzahl traditioneller griechischer Gerichte verwöhnt, die täglich wechseln. Die Atmosphäre des Lokals war einladend und versprach einen genussvollen Abend.

Als Hauptgericht wählten wir Fasolada, einer herzhaften griechischen Bohnensuppe, die Fasolada war besonders aromatisch und perfekt gewürzt dazu gab es frittierte Kalamari und Pommes sowie Feta-Käse und eine gekochten und einen frischen salat. Die Kalamari waren knusprig und zart, ideal als Begleitung zu den knusprigen Pommes. Der Feta-Käse war von hoher Qualität und rundete das Gericht hervorragend ab.

Zum Abschluss überraschte uns das Restaurant mit einem Teller griechischer Süßspeisen. Diese süßen Leckereien waren ein wunderbarer Abschluss unseres Essens und zeigten die Vielfalt der griechischen Dessertkultur.

Die Gerichte waren nicht nur frisch, sondern auch sehr lecker. Die Preise waren absolut angemessen, und der Service war durchweg freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir werden dieses Restaurant bei unserer nächsten Gelegenheit auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen und können es jedem empfehlen, der die traditionelle griechische Küche in einem angenehmen Ambiente genießen möchte.

During our visit to a great restaurant just outside the center of Thessaloniki, we were treated to a variety of traditional Greek dishes that change daily.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and promised an enjoyable evening.

For our main course, we chose fasolada, a hearty Greek bean soup, which was particularly aromatic and perfectly seasoned, accompanied by fried calamari and chips, feta cheese and a cooked and a fresh salad. The calamari was crispy and tender, ideal to accompany the crispy chips. The feta cheese was of high quality and rounded off the dish perfectly.

To finish, the restaurant surprised us with a plate of Greek desserts. These sweet treats were a wonderful end to our meal and showcased the diversity of Greek dessert culture.

The dishes were not only fresh, but also very tasty. The prices were absolutely reasonable and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. We will definitely visit this restaurant again on our next occasion and can recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy traditional Greek cuisine in a pleasant atmosphere.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της επίσκεψής μας σε ένα εξαιρετικό εστιατόριο λίγο έξω από το κέντρο της Θεσσαλονίκης, απολαύσαμε μια ποικιλία από παραδοσιακά ελληνικά πιάτα που αλλάζουν καθημερινά.

Η ατμόσφαιρα του εστιατορίου ήταν φιλόξενη και υποσχόταν μια ευχάριστη βραδιά.

Για το κυρίως πιάτο μας, επιλέξαμε φασολάδα, η οποία ήταν ιδιαίτερα αρωματική και τέλεια καρυκευμένη, συνοδευόμενη από τηγανητά καλαμαράκια και πατάτες τηγανιτές, φέτα και μια μαγειρεμένη και μια φρέσκια σαλάτα. Τα καλαμαράκια ήταν τραγανά και τρυφερά, ιδανικά για να συνοδεύσουν τα τραγανά πατατάκια. Η φέτα ήταν υψηλής ποιότητας και ολοκλήρωνε τέλεια το πιάτο.

Για το τέλος, το εστιατόριο μας εξέπληξε με ένα πιάτο ελληνικά επιδόρπια. Αυτές οι γλυκές λιχουδιές αποτέλεσαν ένα υπέροχο τέλος στο γεύμα μας και ανέδειξαν την ποικιλομορφία της ελληνικής γλυκιστικής κουλτούρας.

Τα πιάτα δεν ήταν μόνο φρέσκα, αλλά και πολύ νόστιμα. Οι τιμές ήταν απολύτως λογικές και η εξυπηρέτηση ήταν φιλική και προσεκτική καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια. Σίγουρα θα επισκεφτούμε ξανά αυτό το εστιατόριο στην επόμενη περίπτωσή μας και μπορούμε να το συστήσουμε σε όποιον θέλει να απολαύσει την παραδοσιακή ελληνική κουζίνα σε μια...

This little restaurant is easy to miss as it's at the start of Thessaloniki before you reach Aristotelis Square and the Ladadika. But if you're staying near Makedonoa Palace, make the five minute walk across the road to this place. Even if you are staying down the other end; come down and have one of the best meals you will in all of Greece.

We had a few dishes, so buckle up

For entrees we had the white Tarama. Not an ounce of fishiness and creamy and smooth.

The kaserokroketes are the best I've had. For one, they are not just kaseri but a rich creamy blend of cheeses. Not to mention the dough Is so light and crispy like loukoumades.

The grilled octopus is so soft and smelts in your mouth. The same goes for the fried calamari.

For mains we started off with the keftedes sti skaras. Soft, juicy and charred to perfection.

The chickpeas came in a flavoursome, thick rich chicken broth.

The best main was the chicken ala creme. If you had this in a restaurant in Paris you would be raving about it for years to come.

This is also topped off by the friendly and efficient staff.
