A place that can not be missed when visiting the city. Located at the edge of the Thessaloniki Exhibition Center, it was originally used as a television tower (the first images were broadcast in 1966), then as a telecommunication tower by OTE, is now used by Cosmote. It is 76 meters tall and is divided into several registers. The penultimate registry (the last being the communications antenna) houses an odd and special bar-restaurant that rotating, making a complete rotation within an hour. The effect is exceptional, the images are dreamy, especially in the evenings (by night is closed). Prices are affordable, under the conditions offered, and the service proportionally to the height of the tower. Access is free of charge and acces is made by elevator. It was a much better experience than expected. We had initially booked the pack with wine + cheese/fruit plate for 2. For wines, there is a small list of a few whites, reds and roses to choose from, and the cheeses were good quality. The portions are small but sufficient. The price was EUR 17 per person, which may seem high but to be honest, it was worth the experience. The staff was super friendly and overall atmosphere was great. We also had a couple of cocktails, which were very good. The best part of the night was the live music, as the singer was very good. Other info: there is not a lot of variety in terms of food, so don't expect much - this is not the place to go if you want to splurge on a good meal :)) One goes here for the view and the experience. Cocktail prices are 12-17 Eur, nibbles are somewhere between 10 and 20, as far as we could see (miniburgers, caesar salad etc). Parking is free for up to 3 hrs at the conference centre. The tower is being renovated (summer 2024) and the area around looks sad and dirty. The bar is not at fault for this one, but the administration of the conference and fair grounds should really do something to improve the overall appearance...
