AERNO RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

My husband and I dined here for our last evening in Santorini. I made a reservation based on the rave reviews to go out with a bang. First, the host sat us down at a table up front with a great view and I was super excited as we were there for sunset. However, he then proceeded to ask us to get up and move for a different reservation. I didn’t mind at first but when I thought about it, it bothered me and we should have been comped for the inconvenience in some way. I will say, however, the servers were very nice and accommodating and the atmosphere/vibes were right up our alley. Unfortunately, the food was subpar. For starters we ordered the octopus which was chewy and the ceviche which was very heavy on the the pesto. My husband ordered the seafood ravioli for his main dish which was quite salty. He couldn’t finish half the plate. I shared my seafood linguini with him which was delicious. We skipped dessert as to not be further disappointed. This was our most expensive meal in our 10 days in Greece and the least impressive. Really beautiful view, which you definitely pay for since the food quality is just okay. As starters we had ceviche, which was nice but drowned in pesto, and sardines (like a sandwich served on white bread with tomato and some sort of mayonnaise). for main dishes we had lamb chops (supposed to be medium, they were served well done but were still tasty) and we ordered 2x seafood linguine - unfortunately they mixed it up and brought 1x linguine and 1x ravioli which was fine as well, I decided to go for the ravioli instead since it was already there. no apologies or thanks for taking the “wrong” dish. Ravioli was really not much food (5 ravioli on the plate) for a main dish, it tasted okay- really Nothing special. We then decided not to order any dessert since we were already disappointed by food quality. The view and place to sit is really nice though.

The worst part: When paying (we payed by card) the girl who did service tried to switch up the numbers regarding the tip not once, but 2 times so it would be more tip for her- be careful here an double check the numbers when paying by card!

Absolute amazing experience at Aerno! My husband and I visited Santorini a few weeks ago and came across Aerno by accident when we were looking for a restaurant to eat dinner at on our first night there. The restaurant was fairly empty, but the seafood linguini caught my attention when reading the menu outside, so we decided to try it and we were both so glad we did. Everything was so delicious from the appetizer they served us to even the bread. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We tried another place the following night that our hotel recommended, and we were so disappointed that we dined here again the following two nights during our 5 days on the island. We knew we could count on the quality of food and service! We found out the only reason it was empty compared to others is because the restaurant is new.
