We had a wonderful experience dining here. The restaurant has a beautiful terrace that’s perfect for watching the sunset. We booked in advance through our hotel and were seated at a table for two right at the front. Despite the busy terrace behind us, our spot felt very private.
The sunset views were absolutely breathtaking — golden light stretching over the city and sea. There’s also a small area beside the terrace where you can step away to take photos, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
The food was of very good quality. We tried the dish of the day, which was meatballs in a tomato sauce flavored with cumin — hearty, fragrant, and full of flavor. We also had the traditional sausage, which was nice but not so memorable. The tea was excellent, made from loose leaves of a Venetian spiced blend, and paired beautifully with dessert.
For dessert, we ordered what was listed as a chocolate fondant. It turned out to be more of a chilled chocolate tart rather than a molten fondant, but it was still rich and satisfying. I would recommend they change the menu to be clearer if this is in fact the dessert.
Overall, this is a wonderful spot for a memorable evening meal. I’d highly recommend visiting at sunset for the stunning views. Just remember to bring something warm to wear once the sun goes down, especially if you’re visiting during the...
Read moreLabeled by some blogs as the best place to enjoy the sunset in Santorini, I booked the table for me and my wife one day in advance with some expectations and I need to admit the view was breathtaking and much wider than many bars in Fira, basically allowing you to have a sense of the entire island. But I was definitely surprised by the quality of the experience as a whole. The team knows most of the clients in the summer season go there to enjoy the sunset, so everything is designed to expand such experience. Their warm welcome full of smiles set the stage for an incredibly wide view, as they seated us to our table. The music in the background was stylish and classy, with a great selection of jazz classics. I tried Franco’s version of the classic Spritz and ordered some delicacies from their selection of small plates. The service was friendly with a touch of class and, in our case, the peak of the sunset was accompanied by the voice of Maria Callas in the background, which made everything more dramatic. The colors of the sky, changing after the sunset, simply completed a fulfilling experience. We thought it was perfect mix of nature, view, food, drinks and great service. Don’t loose your time and book...
Read moreI stopped by Franco’s Café in Santorini and it quickly became one of my favorite spots on the island. Tucked away on a quiet street, the café has a relaxed, cozy vibe with a mix of indoor seating and a terrace that catches the breeze — perfect for escaping the midday heat.
The menu is simple but thoughtful. I had a cappuccino and a fresh pastry, both excellent, and everything felt made with care. They also offer light bites, sandwiches, and local specialties, all presented nicely without being overcomplicated.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, chatting a bit about the best local spots while never being intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you can linger with a drink, enjoy a book, or just watch the world go by.
If you’re exploring Santorini and need a comfortable, low-key place to relax with quality coffee and a pleasant atmosphere, Franco’s Café is well...
