Sanafi — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

We feel so lucky to have been directed to try Sanafi. This was one of the best meals we’ve had on our two months trip through Greece and Italy! The meal was clearly made with the freshest ingredients, indeed they use many ingredients they grow themselves. I could go on about each course we had but I don’t have enough room. Tomato fritters (you’ve never had them like these!), white eggplant (melted in our mouth), taramasalata that was the best I’ve ever tasted, chicken with orzo. And then Ice cream, with little baklava like treats. And if the food wasn’t enough the service made us feel like we were eating at home. Our waiter Kostas talked us through every option so we understood the course and even some of the history. I think every one of the wait staff stopped by at some point as we enjoyed a leisurely meal in the most amazing of settings. We’re short on photos because we were so excited about the food! We had a fantastic evening at Sanafi, having booked in advance from the UK for our first night dinner in Exo Gonia, Santorini. The food was exquisite - so flavoursome (dalmades, lamb special and zucchini risotto with house red) and the view across the bay was superb - what a wonderful setting for our meal. Our waiter, Kostas couldn't have been more attentive, without being intrusive. He made superb food recommendations and is clearly passionate about the menu and in providing a professional & extremely courteous service. If you visit Santorini this has to be on your list of...

Atmosphere and service was absolutely incredible. Our waiters Kostas and Yiannis were amazing and were the highlight of our evening. The whole time they made us feel welcome, comfortable and entertained. They knew the menu very well as well as the wines, and provided amazing recommendations. Food was great, but not exceptional, however the prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality of food, ambiance, view and atmosphere. 10/10 overall
