5 Stars – A True Culinary Highlight in Kamari

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Taverna Sellada during our stay in Kamari, and it was easily one of the most memorable meals of our trip to Santorini.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that made us feel instantly welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting — the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy a slow, delicious evening.

What really stood out, beyond the amazing service, was the food. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and made with clear attention to detail. One of us is vegetarian, and the chef went out of his way to prepare a special vegetarian pita dish filled with grilled vegetables, herbs, and a touch of local cheese — absolutely bursting with flavor and one of the best vegetarian meals we’ve had anywhere in Greece.

I had the shrimps in tomato curry, and it was fantastic — the shrimp were tender and perfectly cooked, swimming in a rich, aromatic tomato sauce with just the right amount of spice. A surprising and delicious twist on traditional Greek seafood dishes.

We also shared some classic appetizers like the stuffed vine leaves and house-made tzatziki, both of which were fresh and full of flavor.

The house wine was a perfect complement to the meal, and we loved how every part of the experience felt thoughtful and unhurried.

Taverna Sellada isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a place where you’re treated like family, and where the food tells a story of tradition, care, and passion. If you’re in Kamari, don’t miss this hidden gem.

We left full, smiling, and already talking about coming back. Highly recommended for couples, families, or anyone who appreciates honest, heartwarming...

Sellada Taverna in Santorini is a hidden gem that beautifully blends Greek authenticity with warm hospitality. Located just a few steps from the beach in Kamari, this family-run restaurant offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed lunch or romantic dinner.

The menu features a delicious variety of traditional Greek dishes, all made with fresh, local ingredients. We tried the grilled octopus, moussaka, and fava — everything was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The seafood is especially fresh, and you can tell it’s prepared with care and love.

The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, even bringing complimentary dessert at the end of our meal.

The ambiance is charming, with soft music and a peaceful vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Prices are reasonable for Santorini, and the quality of food and service makes it absolutely worth it.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning to Kamari, Sellada Taverna is a must-visit. It’s the kind of place where every meal...

Last week we were there to have dinner. My husband wanted shrimp pizza, but they don't have it in the menu. The waiter/owner told us that they can make it for him. He played like a nice guy and so friendly, but in the reality was the opposite. We were shocked with the receipt. This pizza, which was not that delicious, costs 30€. I don't know how he calculated its price, but it was for us like a fraud. It was too pricey. Even if he considered this pizza as margarita pizza with extra, then the price is very high, because margarita pizza costs almost 6,90€. I cannot believe that 6 pieces of shrimps cost more than 20€. I don't recommend this restaurant. Even if you go there, I recommend to order food only from the menu. Otherwise they will use this opportunity to make...

We visited Kamari on the last day of our 7-day stay, looking for a straightforward, authentic taverna meal. It was a Monday around 2pm (early Oct) the place was completely empty, which made us hesitate for a moment, but we decided to give it a try anyway, and thankfully, it delivered. We ordered the Greek salad, fava dip, and both chicken and pork souvlaki. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly cooked to order - no shortcuts or heavy seasoning to mask the ingredients. The service was attentive and friendly. The staff guided us through the gluten-free options, and we even received a complimentary dessert - chocolate ice cream over a homemade chocolate biscuit square. My gluten-intolerant partner couldn’t have any, but I was more than happy to finish it myself.
