We dined at the top terrace, though they do offer a street-level one, which is perfect for those who enjoy people watching.

Atmosphere:

The view. Wow. The top terrace is well-shaded, creating a serene haven where you can have meaningful discussions about existentialism—or argue about the correct pronunciation of "gyro."

Food:

Dolmades: These little grape-leaf parcels of joy were the size of a toddler's pinky, yet they packed more flavor than a Greek grandmother's secret recipe book.

Pizza Volcano: A blazing masterpiece that could double as a small furnace. This pizza isn't just "chili"—it's like the pepper plants had a wild night and decided to crash on your plate. The crust? Chewy enough to give your jaw a workout, but thin and well-baked, as if the dough had just come back from a Pilates retreat.

Pizza Napoli: This one deserves a standing ovation. Fresh rucola that crunches like it’s auditioning for a salad commercial, and ham so exquisite you'd swear it had been massaged daily and whispered sweet nothings.

Service:

Swift and efficient, the servers were like culinary ninjas—appearing just when needed and vanishing without a trace, leaving behind a trail of satisfied diners and empty plates.

Prices:

Quite reasonable, though there's a surcharge for the view, which competes with the stunning vistas of Ia and Thira. So, basically, you're paying extra to stare into the abyss while pondering life's greatest mysteries—or just deciding whether to...

We stumbled upon Vanilia day 2 of a 6 night stay in Santorini and we are so happy we did. From our first visit during the day with rooftop views and magical sunsets, to evening dinners either upstairs or downstairs still with great ambience. The food was so delicious, we must have tried half the menu! We especially loved the appetisers, the pizzas were absolutely delicious as well, tasted woodfired. The staff were very attentive, their English was very good, some better than others so simply be patient. After our first visit the team were very happy to see us back again and always were super accommodating including reserving tables for us at our request, providing ice bowls on hot afternoons, or if it became too windy up the top moving us downstairs. They have a great cocktail menu as well and again were very accommodating if we asked for something a little different. Vanilia was the best food we tasted in Santorini, and that includes some other highly recommended venues we went to. Absolutely recommend a visit when in Santorini, for the rooftop views, sunsets, delicious food, drinks and attentive staff. Thank you to Constatine, Dmitri, Achmed and Max (plus the chef team) for such a great experience during...

Slightly above average restaurant, with a dinner experience that could be improved upon.

Firstly, when I was waiting in line for a table, the waiter was letting people walk in and sit on the rooftop. However, when he got to me, he said that I needed a booking even though there was free seats on the rooftop.

Throughout the night, people were walking in and able to get a spot on the rooftop, which was quite annoying for me.

Secondly, the service was pretty poor. The waiter was trying to do too much at once, and was taking forever to take my food order and give me the bill at the end of the dinner, and just small things like that. He actually said “sorry for the poor service” to me after I paid. I’m glad that he could acknowledge it.

Thirdly, the food was pretty decent as you can see in my attached images.

The restaurant provides a nice view if you’re sitting close to the entrance, or the rooftop, but I don’t think I’ll come...

Poor excuse for an Amatriciana. Menu says Guanciale and the dish had no guanciale whatsoever. So much back and forth with the waiter who did not want to take any accountability and instead continuously insisted what was in the dish was guanciale when it obviously wasn’t. We asked for the chef and he said the chef is busy (later revealed he doesn’t speak English), so I just ate the pasta and not the meat as no solution was provided. The meat was so soft akin to a ragu, I really still question now whether it was beef. Waiter then said he called his manager who said it was pork cheek and belly, which would’ve been pancetta, but this obviously neither. He then said he has never had pork in his life… and then said “oh but you finished it”. No efforts to offer a solution until explicitly called out for his attitude. We did not end up paying for the dish after much back and forth
