My husband and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Taverna Romántica during my vacation, and I must say that it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot in the restaurant, I was captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere. It was like stepping into a cozy haven of culinary delight.

Let me start by expressing my utmost admiration for the food at Taverna Romántica. The dishes were nothing short of magnificent. Each plate was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavors. I highly recommend the MIX FISH DISH FOR TWO and the Spiedino Di Pesce. The ingredients were fresh, locally sourced, and expertly combined to create a harmonious symphony of tastes.

However, what truly set Taverna Romántica apart was the people. I cannot praise the owners of Taverna Romántica enough. Their dedication to their craft and commitment to excellence were evident in every aspect of my visit. They took the time to engage with their guests, ensuring that each one felt valued and cared for. It was evident that they were passionate about providing an exceptional dining experience.

In particular, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to VASSILLIOS for his exceptional attention to detail and personal touch. His warm demeanor and attentiveness made me feel like I was dining in the comfort of my own home.

Staff was really nice and friendly but that's it. The food was rather disappointing. I've ordered a grilled burger and my wife went for chicken skewers. Both dishes felt like a safe bet. Unfortunately we were wrong. The burger was served just as meat patty with rice and fries on both sides. The meat was fine in taste but overall the dish felt really dry as there was zero sauce provided with it. Also to see the rice served just next to a burger especially when the fries where already there was an really odd thing to see. Also there was no vegetables that would balance it out.

For the staff that might be reading this: IMO it would be much better to cut the rice completely for your base plate. It feels really odd to be served rice in a traditional Greek restaurant. Just keep the fries as and add sauces on the side and a selection of "wet" vegetables like tomato, lettuce etc. I wouldn't even mind the fact that there was no bun to go along with it then.

The chicken skewers themselves were also fine but he plate suffered from exactly the same issue that the burger did. Very dry. No sauce provided. No vegetables that could make this better and again - fries and rice on the same plate. Just go for one...

Service:

Stellar. Vasili, the master of tourist-charm, has his lines down pat, with added humor that could make a stone laugh. It's like he majored in "How to Woo Tourists 101."

Drink:

The wine selection looked top-notch, but we didn't venture into oenophile territory. The beer and water were exactly what you'd expect: wet and drinkable.

Atmosphere:

Quintessential taverna vibes, with a traditional look that says, "Welcome to Greece!" However, the constant parade of cars from both sides might ruin your romantic serenade. Some tables offer a stunning view of the island and the sea, if you can tune out the traffic symphony. Perhaps it tones down later in the evening or maybe we hit a rush hour slot.

Food:

Pretty good overall, though the side of french fries and rice-pea-corn medley was a surprising twist in our "traditional Greek cuisine" experience. The complimentary hors d'oeuvres came with a garlic and herbs dip so good it could start a...
