Where to start...
We choose to dinner here. We were waiting on our feet for a table at the beginning of the line to become free. After 5 minutes of waiting, since no table was free, we sat at the end of the bar, but as you can imagine it was hot (because the bar is like a long narrow corridor and surrounded by other bars). As soon as we sat down, within 2 minutes, the waitress was very quick to set the table (as it rarely happens). While the waitress just came and we weren't even comfortable yet, a table in the first row became free, and we told the girl that if there is a chance, we can sit there. I don't believe there is a feedback that can describe how rude her reaction was, saying that "I came all the way here to set the table for you while you move from one table to another". Finally, we sat down, and during the whole time, that girl didn't stay for a second without following us with her eyes, swearing and cursing together with another waiter. Also, you can't eat in peace since next to it is a bar with loud music and the food last time was not...
Read moreMy family of three got a takeaway, as my daughter was craving a chicken gyros. The restaurant has also got tables outside on the main seafront promenade, with a view up to the ruined Venetian castle. But we all wanted to eat in our hotel and also save a bit on price, and prices were competitive. So we bought a chicken kebab and chicken gyros. The price was the best thing, three of us ate for 25 euros (drinks not included). But I was disappointed in the quality, my chips were lukewarm and soggy, the salad was understandably soft and squishy being wrapped in a foil container with the warm meat. The chicken kebab was tasty but dry due to safety first cooking - understandable; I’d have complained more if the chicken had been undercooked. Difficult to get just right. It’s possible to eat al fresco beside the sea on their small terrace area, the food may well be fresher in that case, as it appears in the photos. Perhaps buying a takeaway wasn't the...
Read moreThe day before we ate here, we were in the bar next door and noticed that Simple Gyros was very busy and we watched as the staff worked very hard and the food looked delicious and plentiful. So we decided to give it a go.. We were not disappointed. We were met by a cheerful and friendly server who showed us to a table and gave us the menus. We ordered pork gyros and a chicken burger. The service was prompt, and the food was good and plentiful. I would have to say that the pork was a little greasy but not overly so and the fact that it was served on top of the pita meant that the bread had absorbed the fat to give it extra taste. I personally did not like the Tzatziki (perhaps it was made with goat milk, which I don't like), but the others in my party didn't have the same problem and said it was OK. I think that the service was good, the food was good and the prices...
