Read some of the other reviews of this premises - and you will see that there is a pattern here. This could be (and probably is on occasion) another great place in this great town. HOWEVER, we ordered drinks and food (a simple salad), then we were joined by another member of our family, who also ordered drinks and food. Several other people arrived after us and placed orders. Their food arrived in a timely fashion, as did the order for the extra member of our party who arrived after us. We waited patiently, for around 30 minutes in total, before enquiring (politely) of the waiter as to how long our food would take. We received a nonchalant shrug of the shoulders and an indifferent "one moment"; we assumed that the waiter would check and give us an update - NOPE - no checking, no update! Meanwhile, another diner was remonstrating outside about delays and rudeness (it was not a busy day). In the end we had finished the food and drink that had been delivered. I went to pay and explained that we didn't now want the salad, we had all finished, and waited over 45 minutes. The gentleman(!) operating the till became irate and said it was now ready - great! I explained that we had to leave and that we had tried to ask before. This is where it goes a little crazy. He became loud, rude, arrogant, unreasonable....Telling me that I didn't have to pay for ANYTHING and that he didn't need my money.. I explained that there was no reason for such an attitude and that I was willing and happy to pay for what we had received. He was having none of it and dismissed me with a wave of his hand. Clearly cannot accept that they had made a mistake and passed it off as if we were being unreasonable. Honestly - he was making no sense whatsoever. If he genuinely doesn't need the money, fine, but why do a job of poorly running a cafe if you cannot take justified criticism or complaints in a professional manner - just quit and go and do something else already. There you go - if you want free food and drink in this lovely town - go to Symposium cafe and complain - the owner will blow his stack and refuse to take...
Read moreExtremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the very low quality of service, and this is by Greek standards. First of all, they didn’t open on time. People already lined up, and, as usual, smb came earlier and smb later. Once they opened they didn’t take a note who was a first one in line, so we were seated and attended to last ones instead of second. It was very long as they just took orders from everybody else before us, and we had to wait for everyone else’s food to be cooked and delivered before we got ours. Second, when we asked if the included coffee in our breakfast menu could be upgraded from filter coffee to machine-made coffee (americano, latte), the host asked the following: what is the normal coffee for you? We found this to be both demeaning and insulting: the host should not question a client’s preference. Oh right, for those who are looking for a WiFi spot, do not come here, it is super slowwwwww. When they finally started to serve our breakfast, voila the fresh orange juice arrived with ice, but we did not ask for ice…. We also got bacon and ham as side dish to our eggs. The bacon was suuuuuper salty and the ham was sour. I didn’t even finish it. Aside from this, we also received a big piece of whole grain bread and 1 croissant. The only thing that I would like to admit is that they have tasty croissants. To conclude, this is not a place that I would visit again and I would definitely not...
