Food was delicious! View was beautiful. The service was questionable. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and we booked a 6pm dinner at Luaz. I greeted an older gentleman (waiter) with a handshake and went to our table. Every other waiter was kind and doing their job amazingly but the older gentleman was our issue.
We felt rushed to order from him. We couldn’t take our time to get our appetizers first and then figure out which entree to choose since we want to make sure we don’t over order and waste food. This gentleman told us “please order everything now since it’ll make it easier for us to press a button.” We felt rushed after this comment. Now I’m not sure if there was a language barrier but this gentleman came back a second time to urge us to order more when we had barely finished our appetizers.
I told him “sir can you please give us a few minutes to pick our entree, we can’t decide just yet if we want the _ or the _ and then he got a bit agitated and said “entree is entrance and main course is main course, don’t get those mixed up know the different.” I looked at my girlfriend and said “what the heck is this guys problem.” I tried not to be confrontational with him since we were just trying to enjoy our anniversary dinner but man, what an odd and unpleasant service. There was bare minimum verbal hospitality here. Maybe it’s because we’re from the States so we have expectations especially in a luxury fine dining place (presumably) like LUAZ and we are THE paying customers. We still left a tip since we respected the other waiters for their kindness but I had to leave a review to make sure others know that if you get this older gentleman as your waiter, maybe ask for a different waiter so your what was suppose to be a peaceful and relaxing anniversary dinner won’t get bothered. We were going to order an entree but decided to finish up catching the sunset and taking some photos and finish our appetizers to eat our actually dinner elsewhere.
The other waiters (not the older gentleman) brought my partner and I two shots of fruit vodka which was nice, I’m not sure if that was on the house or because they overhead my girlfriend and I conversation on how difficult it was to have the older gentleman as our waiter. The food was delicious, zero complaints on this part!
I should have listened to my girlfriend and made a reservation at Giacomo Paros (couple doors down) but I wanted to have the best of the best for our anniversary for her but we were left with dissatisfaction. RESTAURANTS ARE NOT ABOUT THE FOOD ONLY. ITS 80% ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCES AND IF YOU HAVE MADE A MEMORABLE AND ENJOYABLE TIME FOR THE CUSTOMERS. I would know this because I own 3 restaurants in the U.S. Pretty unlikely we’ll come back again due to this interaction and I’m not speaking negatively for the entire restaurant, just on behalf of this one employee.
P.S I’ve went through some other negative reviews and it seemed like an overall trend. Just look at one of the reply’s from LUAZ (owner)… that should tell...

My wife and I arrived close to sunset hoping to watch it over drinks. We waited for 5 minutes to be sat as waiter after waiter looked at us and pretended we didn't exist. Finally an older gentleman greeted us, when I asked if we could have a table close to the water and explained we didn't have a reservation, he laughed in our faces. I understand it was sunset at a restaurant that's popular, but the attitude we received was completely unprofessional and uncalled for.
After being seated elsewhere, we were greeted by multiple different waiters and waitresses at different times. One came and explained the menu, one brought us water, and another eventually came to take our order, all at different times. This might not seem like a big deal, but it did feel like the staff were all in a hurry and not really taking the time to make the customer feel comfortable.
Finally we go to take our order, and while the place is pricey, that isn't the issue. My wife and I only wanted a drink to watch the sunset, as we had eaten prior. Our waiter (the 16th one at this point) did not like this, saying "you're only going to have drinks?" and then slamming the menus and storming off. If the place had been packed and we were "wasting" one of their tables, I'd understand a bit (a minuscule amount) but there were many empty tables and there is no dining rule at the restaurant on what needs to be ordered or what you have to spend. We decided to finish our drinks quickly and leave to go get a table somewhere else.
The overall attitude of the staff at the Luaz is unprofessional and spoiled. They expect you to run up a bill, and when you don't, they throw a tantrum.
I'll never come here again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There's a cocktail bar directly next to them that gave us a great experience, and at...
Read moreMy partner and I had a stunning evening at Luaz. We visited last night and it’s by far been the best night of our trip to Paros. I’ll admit, upon reading some of the negative reviews, I was apprehensive about our visit as I really wanted it to be a special evening. But from the moment we set foot through the door, I knew it would be a fantastic evening. We were warmly greeted by the manager who took us to our table, then we were served by the wonderful lady with ginger hair (I didn’t get her name, but if you are served by her you will have a fabulous evening). We made an effort to learn some basic Greek which you could tell was greatly appreciated. She advised us on which wine to select, and it was refreshing how she didn’t push us to select the most expensive wines on the menu, but instead used her knowledge to select one we would love. I had the sea bass which was divine, and my partner had the lamb chops, which I must emphasize, were the most tender, juicy lamb chops I have ever tasted, and I don’t say that lightly. Our wine glasses were constantly topped up, even our water glasses were topped up for us, which for me, is such a lovely touch that often is missed by other higher end establishments. We were not rushed once, and upon finishing our meal we were given two glasses of their house “cosmopolitan-esque” drink which again, was a lovely touch. Everything 10/10, we will...
