PORTO ROMA — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Nice view but regrettably food quality very disappointing and you will find it even more disappointing when you get the check - very expensive prices and especially for Zakynthos' (Zante) standards. But if the food was to match the quality of other restaurants we experienced in Zakynthos, then at least you blame the very high prices on the panoramic view of the sea shore below this place offers. This place was recommended by our cousin from Zakyntho who happened to hear from someone else that is a good restaurant and has a delectable dish the “astakomakaronada”. We did not get that, totally a wacko pricing, and again if that tasted like the dry porgy and tuna we were served then glad we did not order that. And to seal our awful time we had there, the owner, even though he seemed to be a decent and a life-toiled individual sat on the adjacent table and puffing his cigarette with total disregard whether his second hand smoke will bother us- that sealed the total unhappiness of going to this place. What a pity, because if the food was tasty then I would say go for it it’s worth it, even with the extremely high pricing – especially for the locals. But if the food quality were at least up to par, and if the prices were more reasonable, perhaps this place would have been full most of the time and not...

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at this stunning seaside restaurant, and I can confidently say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that made us feel instantly welcome.

The view was simply breathtaking — panoramic scenes of the sea stretching out before us, with the sound of waves creating the perfect background to an already relaxing atmosphere. Whether you’re catching a sunset or enjoying a moonlit dinner, the setting alone is worth the visit.

The food was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. You can tell the chefs take pride in using fresh, high-quality ingredients. We tried a variety of items from the menu, and not a single bite disappointed. From the seafood to the desserts, everything was top-tier.

The service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive, and every member of the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable evening. It’s rare to find a place where hospitality feels this genuine.

Food & view is great, unfortunately the impression was spoiled by the blond-haired waiter who tried to steal from us. When I asked him for the bill, it wasn't a fiscal one, he just told me the amount which was about 25% higher than the amount based on the menu. That's when I decided I wasn't going to let him steal up on me. I asked him for the fiscal bill that I had been waiting for a long time because he was trying to set it up to be the same as the amount he told me. When he brought the fiscal bill, the amount was lower, but again not as much as it should have been, some items were charged more expensively compared to the prices in menu. I went to the manager with whom I checked the bill dish by dish to find the amount that should be charged, of course they had to return the money.

So enjoy this place but beware of the blonde waiter and always ask for a fiscal bill. I don't know why they even allow such thiefes to ruin the impression of this...
