Well… I have had the pleasure of staying on this lovely island for a little over a week. I was on holiday with my teenage daughter, who does not 🙄 (yup those eyes) like to eat in public. So, I went to this place, on a whim. After all, you don’t know what to pick when you’re walking that sea front… but hey, something struck. The decor, music, attitude of the staff… Just welcoming. Nothing more. Definitely my kind of place! The relatively small and clever menu also shows you that they’re not going to give you frozen stuff… It’s all fresh! Normally I would not be proud of this, but… we went there EVERY single day for our food. We just couldn’t get enough! But really, when it’s that good; why change? And yes, it’s seriously that good. The place is loaded with actual Greeks eating there (And leaving empty plates)! My daughter and I tried every single item on that menu (except for the risotto) and were enchanted by all! Ok well, some we liked more than others…no squid for me… sorry gentlemen… My daughters’ favorite: crab salad and grilled chicken. My favorite: just a pile of marinated and grilled anchovis! Starter and main course at the same time! I did love that grilled fish, though… Make sure you get some of that tyrokafteri dip… Well the tzatziki is very nice and creamy, but this is just something else; a bit more spicy (not that much, though, so stop your whinging ) cheesy creamy dip! Their Greek Salad is a must have (and one portion for two is definitely enuogh!) is just frigging amazing… When you get a very, veeeery basic dish tasting THAT good, you know you have the right guys working in your kitchen (and you are buying your ingredients in all the right places)… So I have never ever done this in my life, but this time I have ordered every single meal from one place. For a week. And it was good. Very friendly guys serving you, and adapting to their audience. Sincere guys, with clearly a lot of experience, clearly in control of their tables, which is rare these days. I just loved how quickly they made you feel welcome (and not faked!). Just go there, and make sure you try that bleu bottle of Ouzo...

We ordered Octopus made on honey as antre, Greek salad, grilled Makrella and grilled prawns.
Salad was good but ingredients were huge and not chopped properly. I had to chop it myself so we could enjoy the mix of all tastes. Octopus made on honey is a good dish but it's too sweet. There should be some addition to it so it would balance the taste. Makrella and prawns were good.
Service wasn't that good as food though. Waitress didn't smile once, dirty dishes were ignored by runners and I didn't feel like we are welcomed in Thymalos.
Feel free to take the bottled water which you didn't order and was given to you by waitress as they will count it to your bill without asking. We didn't open it, but it was on the bill. I didn't want to engage waitress in any way so I just...

Just 🤦♂️ First few hours in Zante and already maybe the worst restaurant I've ever visited. The food was sooo bad i could write a book out of it. They bring bread without asking and charge you for it. They said that the food was fresh that was a huge lie. We ordered grilled shrimps and it was not even cleaned properly. The spinach was soo dry and not eatable. The only fresh thing was the water that i took with me after i left. They charged you also 2 euro for an small oil bottle that i also took with me. The food was so so bad its undesirable. DO NOT VISTI THIS RESTAURANT. Visit it for your own risk. VERY LOW QUALITY FOOD FOR VERY HIGH...
