Tasted like chicken. The fish was overcooked, thick, dry, and bland. While it did taste like fresh white fish, it lacked any distinctive flavor. When the owner asked if it tasted okay, I said yes but clarified that it wasn’t like any snapper I’ve ever had. (Granted I thought it was red snapper) I’ve eaten all kinds snapper in Costa Rica, Mexico, and grew up in Alaska, and this just didn’t resemble it in taste or texture. The owner explained there are seven types of snapper, which we hadn’t known, but regardless of the variety, this didn’t meet expectations.
Between two glasses of wine, an overcooked appetizer, lobster tacos (which my companion enjoyed), and a coconut shrimp entrée that was slightly burnt, the overall experience was disappointing. At $81.10, we left feeling shortchanged. The service was excellent, but the food simply didn’t live up to the standard. Next time, we’ll head to Silversides or another nearby spot. Assuming it was what we paid for we would skip this place forever and eat tacos 🌮 at the local street vendor or head Silversides. Even Lands End runs circles around this place. Fish has always been more than we hoped for at all of the above mentioned places except Gingers. Tasted like chicken. FYI known for...
Read moreI came here for lunch one afternoon. -Location is easy to find, as its on the south end of half moon bay beach, with chairs and a entrance from the beach. It also backs onto the beach on the other side to the south, and you can access the restaurant from a ally way from west end road (there is a gingers sign there), beside a fruit and vegetable stand, the ally leads to the beach behind gingers, and they have a entrance on this south side aswell. -It was not very busy when i went, but the whole week i was there in May was not very busy everywhere. -I ordered the grilled chicken breast with fries and grilled vegetables. It was very good, ate it all. Coca cola to drink. -The View of the bay is very nice, and there is chairs right on the beach if you want to eat and watch your kids snorkel. -The staff were friendly and service was fast. One of my dive masters from a dive a day before was a waiter here also.
Overall great place to eat, right...

I had the Hog Fish Sandwich, and it was truly outstanding. The fish was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection, making every bite a delight. But the real star of the show was the side of onion rings. I can honestly say they are the best I have ever had—crispy, lightly breaded, and cooked just right.
The amazing food is complemented by the staff, who are all fantastic, and the owner, Jeff, who makes everyone feel welcome. To top it all off, you get to enjoy your meal with a great view right on the water. If you're in Roatan, this is the place to be for an...
