I had high expectations for Art of Sushi. The restaurant is beautifully designed, and I was genuinely excited to break my fast there after a long day of fasting during Ramadan. The food was well-prepared and tasted great at first, but unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by a lack of clear communication about ingredients.
Before ordering, I asked the server whether any of the food contained alcohol. I was informed that while some dishes did, they could be adjusted to accommodate my request. Trusting this information, my friends and I proceeded with our meal. However, after we had already finished eating, the server returned to inform us that the sushi rice itself contained sakeâa detail that had not been mentioned earlier. This was disappointing, as I would have made a different dining decision had I been informed upfront.
The explanation given was that the alcohol "steams away," but for those with dietary restrictions, the presence of alcohol in any form is an important factor in food choices. It would have been helpful if this information had been shared at the start to allow for an informed decision. Transparency is crucial in accommodating different dietary needs, and I would encourage better communication in the future.
Additionally, throughout the meal, my friends and I noticed that the server gave us frequent looks whenever we ordered more food. Since this was an all-you-can-eat experience, we expected to enjoy our meal without feeling uncomfortable. While this may not have been intentional, it did affect the overall atmosphere of our visit.
Ultimately, while the food itself was enjoyable, the experience left me feeling disappointed. I hope the restaurant considers improving communication about ingredients for those with dietary restrictions and ensures that all guests feel welcome and comfortable. For those with specific dietary needs, I recommend double-checking all...
Read moreThe most arrogant and rude waiters i have ever seen. I live in Budapest and I've been here before. I came in tonight with my friend who was not eating. I asked for the A La Carte menu as I was not so hungry. After looking at the A La Carte menu, I decided to go for the All You Can Eat menu as it worked out a better deal. I asked the waiter if i could switch to the that and he was very rude about it. Anyway I ordered for myself, my friend only had a glass of wine and water. She tasted 2 pieces of my sushi. What the bill came, they charged us for 2 people full price all you can eat. total price was 35,000 forint âŹ90 euro. I told them that my friend didn't eat, and she only tasted 2 pieces of my sushi, which the waiters clearly saw as they were coming to the table often. A guy who claimed he was the manager said no i have to pay the full price for 2 people. He said that we should have told them at the start that she wasn't eating. Why should we have to tell them when we sat down that only I was eating? especially as at that time I planned to order from the A La Carte. It should have been them who asked us who was eating. And I was happy to pay the extra for the 2 pieces of sushi that my friend tried from my plate, but they told me that wasn't an option and I have to pay full price for her. I have never heard such bad attitude from restaurant staff in my life. They told me that i had to pay the full All You Can eat price for 2 people. The arrogance was unbelievable. They forced me to pay it. I don't recommend anyone to come here. There is clearly a culture of rudeness and arrogance. I told the 'manager' that I am not a tourist and i live in Budapest and he said 'I've never seen you around here.' The worst service I...
Read moreWe tried the all-you-can-eat menu at this restaurant in Budapest. The food itself was decent â nothing particularly bad, and the sushi quality was acceptable for an all-you-can-eat place.
However, the ordering system is a major downside. Everything must be ordered through a tablet, which is far from user-friendly. Thereâs little to no guidance on how to order, what items come out faster, or how to structure your meal efficiently. If youâre mainly interested in sushi rolls, be prepared to wait â some items took over an hour to arrive, and the dishes were served in a very random order.
One of the more frustrating moments was when I received my food much earlier, while my partner had to wait nearly an hour for hers, which made the experience feel disjointed and uncomfortable. While the staff were somewhat helpful when approached, the service felt chaotic, with waiters constantly rushing around.
A bit more explanation or guidance from the staff on how the ordering system works would have made the experience smoother. At around 15,000 HUF per person (including just one bottle of mineral water), we didnât feel the value quite matched the price â we certainly didnât manage to eat 30,000 HUF worth of food between the two of us.
Overall, itâs not a bad place, but the experience could be significantly improved with better organization and...
