Let me start by saying, I spent over 20 years in the restaurant business in the States. My last restaurant was voted in the Top 200 Restaurants in the World, Top 100 in America and one of Top 3 Restaurants in New Orleans. So, I like to think that my opinion comes from experience. I will also say that I absolutely LOVE Turkish food. So, I was excited to try Bistro Dash. In regards to our experience..... PRO - The food was absolutely amazing. Quite possibly the best Turkish food I have ever experienced outside of Turkey. Everything we ordered was delicious. The restaurant is clean and has great ambience. For these things alone I highly recommend it. CONS - I have now lived in Europe for almost 4 years and cannot understand the lack of customer "service". I have learned that here, a serve feels their job is to take your order, bring it then disappear. I have never had a waiter or waitress come back after the food is delivered to see how everything is or if we needed anything else. No one has ever seen my empty glass and asked if I would like another one. No one ever asks if we would like to see the dessert menu. The lack of this costs you the restaurant any extra income. I am still confused by the "service fee" fee that restaurants charge here. Does this extra 10% go to the owner or to the servers? because I normally tip a good server 20% because I appreciate a job well done. But, I feel no reason to do so when, as I said, all they did was take my order and drop the food on the table and then hang out by the POS station on their cellphones texting, which I experienced. People have absolutely hundreds of restaurants to choose from here in Budapest. It's not just a matter of giving them great food. Staff need to be trained to give guests a...
Read moreI was jus browsing through the reviews to understand the food quality but all I could read was the hospitality and warmth of their service staff. One after the other, reviews are hardly talking about food but predominantly talking about the efficiency and effectiveness of the staff. Frankly I wanted to see what the fuss was all about..... So I went! It's a pretty new cafe and true to all the comments the staff were indeed, welcoming, kind, inclusive and imparted their expertise on the dishes without hesitation. Having visited a couple of restaurants around Budapest this is outstanding and extremely warm experience for a non-European. I truly wish with all my heart this quality remains the same throughout your existence.
The food menu is salads, humus, pizza, lamachuns and pide. Very tasty and fresh both the breads and meat. They also have specials during weekends. I was too stuffed with my current order and cudnt eat the lamb ribs, I'm coming back for that. The dessert was the star of the show, the milk cake was as fluffy as air, soaked with favoured milk, sprinkled with pistachios and coated with caramel. My hear skipped a beat when the fork went through the cake for the 1st time. One of the best cakes I have ever had and the portion was so fulfilling and satisfying. Jus...
Read moreI recently visited Bistro Dash Cafe in Budapest and had a wonderful experience. The food and service were both top-notch and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious meal.
I ordered the Tantuni and was blown away by how flavorful it was. The meat was perfectly cooked and the spices added just the right amount of kick. The portion size was also very generous, so I left feeling satisfied and happy.
For dessert, I had the chocolate dessert, and it was absolutely delicious. It was rich and indulgent without being too heavy, and I could tell that the ingredients were of high quality.
But it wasn't just the food that made my experience so great. The service at Bistro Dash Cafe was excellent as well. The staff were all friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making me feel right at home.
Overall, I had a fantastic time at Bistro Dash Cafe and would definitely visit again. If you're looking for a great meal in Budapest, this is the...
