Delicious food, bad service. A vendor in one of the stores in the market hall recommended this place for authentic food. He said “food is delicious and the service is not that good, but if you don’t mind, just go”. Restaurant was not that busy so we got our orders fast. The waiter that got our order was polite and friendly. Asked for fresh orange juice, they said they have it, but what came was clearly industrial one/nectar. Food came, I said thank you to the lady, no answer and she left with a grumpy face. But no worries, the food was amazing and portion size is well served. Some restaurants charge the service on the bill and others don’t. I didn’t notice that, and when paying with card, I selected 10% tip. The waitress/person that came to charge us didn’t even said thank you, a smile or said goodbye. Just walked away. When checking the receipt, I noticed that the service was already included, so I didn’t have to add it extra on the card. I asked the waiter who got our orders for clarification and he went to talk with the lady that brought our orders, she gave us the money back but was with a grumpier face than before. I don’t recommend this place if you appreciate good service. If you can ignore this and just focus on the food, worth the visit. For the owners: please keep a standard on your service. If you are on a bad day, ask someone else to deal with the customers. If a problem arises, it is part of the job and you are expected to treat people well. I would love to recommend this place to other people but I wouldn’t feel good to invite my friends and family another time.

We had some great food and service was great, however, the music was slightly too fast paced to enjoy your food at a comfortable pace.

We went here following a recommendation from the bar next door and we did not regret it. The service was excellent, very polite and friendly waiters. We had the Hortobagyi pancake as a starter, which was delicious, except for the sauce around, which was nothing special. The gulyas soup was delicious, as well, as I think it should be. The portion was very small, compared to what I had in many other restaurants (the size of a cream soup) - usually you get a hearty, fulfilling dish. But the price was smaller, accordingly. Finally, the chicken paprikas was good, but nothing special, I've had much better elsewhere. At least for me it should have had more intense flavour, as the one my grandmother prepared when I was a child. This one shared the same sauce with the starter pancake. It's worth mentioning the hot pepper dip / paste, which was home made and better than in outer places. The place is nicely decorated, traditional Hungarian style, nice Hungarian music at low volume, a pleasure to visit. The table we had was small, but enough for the two of us. Unfortunately it was located on the top floor, where we missed fresh air. All-in-all a nice experience, I recommend the place.

Pros ans cons for the readers convenience: Pros Traditional Hungarian Food Live background music Beautiful decor Food came quick

Cons Food somewhere between ok and bad Bad service Dirty glasses Many weird things unfit for a restaurant

The negative: The wine glasses were straight up dirty. They also had small black crust like particles on the inside of the glass. We send back the worst glass in the hope of getting a clean one, the lady quickly wiped it down removing almost none of the dirt. The food was subpar, the chicken was dry, the "egg noodles" were mostly made of batter and definitely didn't resemble noodles and for some reason my lettuce that came on a side plate was almost floating in water and completely soaked. The service was generally bad (although it was a busy evening). The lady serving us was very stressed and rushed everything, she made no effort to hide her stress. She even walked away in the middle of our order without saying anything to return a bit later. Also why in the world would you not have a lock on the toilet, personally i prefer to take a dump without someone walking in on me.

The positive: Traditional Hungarian food and decor live music was great non intrusive background music performed by a skilled musician. Also the food came quick.

In conclusion I would not recommend this restaurant. I think this restaurant would greatly benefit from the Gordon Ramsey approach of halving the menu and focus on an improved service. Also buy a...

We came to your restaurant yesterday, January 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM as a group from Croatia visiting the city of Budapest. The way of serving and communication between the restaurant staff and guests was strange to say the least. A sequence of 3, let's call them dishes was served in less than 35 minutes. The soup we got was served in cups, the main course (chicken in sauce, with cream spilled on it and some kind of pasta as a side dish) was disgusting. Some of the group didn't even want to taste that dish! The only thing that was good was the apple strudel for dessert. Let me also look at the seating - a table that can seat a maximum of 4 people, they turned into a table for 6 people with additional chairs - we couldn't even eat without touching the people next to us. Finally, and most sadly, all the guests got the impression that the host wanted to get rid of us as soon as possible, that is, that he wanted us to leave the restaurant. The behavior of the lady who served us was shameful! Nervous, dark-eyed, loud were enough trumps for us to judge for ourselves that it's time to get out of here! Service 1 out of 5 Food 1.5 out of 5 Atmosphere 1 of 5 Place 2 out of 5 Toilet 1.5 out of 5 Staff 1.5 out of...
