On a hot, sunny day in Budapest, I found myself craving a cold drink and maybe a chance to catch some football. After a bit of wandering, I stumbled across this basement bar—and what a find it was. The place is huge and cavernous, with an almost unbelievable number of screens packed into every corner. I was seated at a booth and spent a few hours happily sampling local beers, along with my all-time favorite, Hoegaarden. The table service was excellent—the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. I didn’t get a chance to try the food (the menu looked extensive, but I already had other dinner plans), so that’s something I’ll save for my next visit. What really stood out was the atmosphere. The bar is decked out wall-to-wall with sports memorabilia, giving it an authentic sports bar vibe. It’s the perfect spot to watch any kind of game while enjoying a drink. All in all, a great place with a lively yet comfortable atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Server was kind and helped us with the menu. The atmosphere was really quiet but that’s what I’d imagine for a Thursday afternoon, can see it being really good later on in the evening. Sadly the biggest let down for me was the food. I ordered just a simple portion of Steak Fries that I’ve had at a few other bars and they were really nice. This however resembled greasy charcoals. I don’t know who the chef was but they were horrible, I feel bad for their children if this is what they serve paying customers.

Was absolutely blown away by the way they treat American football here. We walked in around 6:45 to watch the playoff game and were surprised to see in entirely full bar watching the FA cup match. So we didn’t think they would play the game we wanted at 7. Sure enough mid match they cut he sound and put the game on the projector, not even the small screen! Amazing service, good beer, solid wings, and fun atmosphere

I have never seen such a bad customer service in my entire life! And that is why I feel obliged to post my first comment ever. On one hand to warm future customers and on the other hand to change these waiters mentality.

A waiter started to scream at one of my friend with an angry face, for which reason?? Because my friend asked for my chairs, that's it! More chairs because we were more than expected but the bar wasn't full and fortunately some people decided to give us some chairs from their table. A waiter should keep his calm with turbulent customers but I swear that I saw the opposite yesterday! A customer keeping his calm with a turbulent waiter, unbelievable!

But that isn't the only part of the night I would like to mention: when I arrived, I got the information from my friends that by booking a table we unconsciously put ourselves in a situation where we had to pay all together (so 13 persons) at the end. I decided to ask the, I think manager, person in the entrance if it was possible to split or if not, to oder at the bar directly. He replied that both ideas were not possible. Of course I decided to tell him that it was not nice etc but with calm, and he started to scream at me saying that they are working like this for the last 3 years and that if I don't accept it I should leave the bar.

I am going to listen to his advice and will never come back again and for the customers looking for good bars to watch football, I suggest you to go to other ones like: Jack Doyles or the House...

Walked in here as a solo female visiting Budapest for a few days hoping to watch the premier league game that was on. Had done extensive research to find somewhere good that would be showing it at 8:30 on a Wednesday night and this place repeatedly came up with great reviews so I was really excited to go. Turned up 5 minutes before the game started only to be told that they were fully booked (and the man wasn’t exactly polite about it). The place was half empty! Considering the game was about to start, where was everybody?

I was taken aback that I was turned away from a half empty bar where I simply wanted a couple of pints and to watch the football. From all the research I had done, nowhere did I see that I had to book. Nor did I think that going to a bar for a pint by myself would require booking (maybe that’s a Budapest thing?)

When looking at more reviews, I can see the exact same thing happened to someone else a year ago.

Really disappointed as the place looks really cool but I have ended up at an Irish pub watching the game where they are super friendly. Have given 2 stars because there is potential to have a great time there based on other reviews (but clearly only...

I specifically booked Champs because I have really enjoyed watching a variety of sports and matches there before. I’ve never had an issue. For some reason today it was an entirely different experience. I called to book a table the day before, so I guess I was lucky. If I hadn’t though, they might have had 10 customers maximum, because I watched them turn away every single person or group of people who tried to be customers, and just wanted to watch a World Cup match. The staff told them that it was because they were completely booked but it was comical how visually false that was. The bar was empty. They turned away everyone. The staff were glued to their phones the entire time so they also did not provide good service, which you’d think wouldn’t be a problem since there were only 6 people in the bar. Little did the staff know that I was with my friend who is a native Hungarian speaker, so she understood that on top of all of that, the staff were also speaking badly about their handful of customers. They did recommend other bars for the would-be-customers to go to, so I suppose that...
