Read moreI regret to say that my recent experience at this restaurant was profoundly disappointing and, at times, deeply unsettling.
I had reserved a table for 19:30 and arrived promptly at 19:29. Rather than being greeted with courtesy, I was met with hostile stares from the manager — a man whose demeanor could only be described as aggressively unwelcoming. After confirming my reservation, he instructed me to wait. Despite several available tables, I watched as two white couples, who arrived after me, were seated immediately. Only after a 20-minute wait was I finally shown to a table.
The manager’s conduct not only felt discriminatory but also cast a shadow over the entire establishment. His brusque manner and intimidating presence seemed to keep the staff on edge, which must make for a demoralizing workplace.
One bright spot was my server, Kittie. Her warm smile, professionalism, and attentive service provided a much-needed contrast to the negativity that otherwise defined the evening. She is a credit to the restaurant.
Unfortunately, the food failed to redeem the experience. My order — a chicken leg with fries and Chimichurri sauce — was underwhelming. The portion of chicken was unreasonably small, the fries were overly salted, and the sauce lacked flavor, carrying an unpleasant bitterness. Altogether, it was a poor offering given the restaurant’s pricing and location.
What struck me most, however, was the atmosphere of exclusion and disregard. As a non-white customer, I could not ignore the sense of being treated with less respect and priority than others. The experience was a stark reminder of less enlightened times, which should have long been left behind.
For these reasons, I cannot recommend this establishment. It is my intention to share this account on multiple platforms so that others are made aware of the conduct and standards I...

From the moment you enter, the friendly and attentive staff make you feel welcome and taken care of. The menu is full of delectable options that are sure to please any palate. The quality of the ingredients and the presentation of each dish is outstanding, making every bite a delight.
What sets Restaurant Fuego apart is their unique approach to traditional Hungarian cuisine, incorporating modern techniques and flavors that elevate each dish to a whole new level. The wine selection is also impressive, with a range of options to complement your meal.
The only reason why this review falls short of 5 stars is that, at times, the service can be slow. However, this is more than made up for by the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.
As for constructive criticism, perhaps the restaurant could benefit from more staff during peak hours to ensure quicker service. Additionally, offering more vegetarian options on the menu would be a great addition.
To the owners and staff of Restaurant Fuego, I want to express my gratitude for providing such a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Budapest. The impression it left me was one of pure satisfaction and enjoyment, and I would definitely consider coming back in the future. Keep up...
