Looking for your perfect Soviet fix? Want to feel followed and as if everything you do is probably breaking the rules? This is the place to visit!

Mid-size exhibition that reminds you of primary school trips, where most of the time u don't follow what's happening, and wake up your attention only when there is something to touch. There are laminated cards with explanations, including funny translations. It is interesting, but mostly if you already know what you're looking at.

You enter for a mere 800 forints and you leave feeling heavy and depressed with that familiar sense of having disappointed your parents by not learning enough about physics. On the plus side: it made me want to binge YouTube videos about electrical current, amps, and watts.

So, while I didn't learn anything inside, maybe I will learn something as a second or third order effect of that visit.

Not 5 stars, because of the quality, but not 1 because at the same time it's almost exactly what I expected...

Szokták élvezni a csoportok. Mehetnek azok a látogatók akiket érdekelnek a kiállító tárgyak amik ott megtekinthetőek. A főnőkségnél érdemes érdeklődeni persze aki szeretné tudni.

Awesome museum with 2 floors filled with a vast variety of electrical artifacts!

Collection is wide from experimental pieces (Tesla Egg, Tesla coils,..), to first generation electrical motors/generators, various electrical bulbs & meters, consumer appliances (vacuum cleaners, boilers, radios,..), medical products (rontgen scanner,..), etc ..

Museum offers a wide range of experiments you can test for yourself However be warned that most of the instructions and supporting text are in Hungarian only. So better come prepared with a translation app, or ask the museum to provide an English speaking guide.

Worth a visit if you are an electricy enthousiast or are looking for an educative activity for...

Awesome electrotechnical museum. Nice displays from history including appliances, lighting, iron curtain and bird protection. My favourite had to be the first electric car! There were yellow pages in each room which gave a general English description. I enjoyed it even though not everything had an English description below - I could generally work it out or used google translate’s photo feature. The people there were super friendly and spoke English. Very reasonable price at 800HUF each. Accepts card payment.

Although this place has a great collection of every electronic device from old days in Hungary, and has a beautiful set up to visit, no one is responsible for explaining the devices and how they work. At the same time the transcriptions attached there are all in Hungarian and this combination makes it nearly impossible for a foreigner to understand the story behind each device. This made me upset as I really liked to learn more.
