Gringos Amigos — Restaurant in Budapest

If you enjoy being treated like an idiot and being made fun of, then this is the right place for you! We arrived there at around 5pm ish and were looking forward for a good dinner after a very long and stressful day at work. As foreigners we haven’t seen such a type of restaurant yet and since it was our first time even there we politely asked how its works there. The employees responses were very arrogant and immature and one even asked sarcastically “Have you ever been to a restaurant?” I have never ever felt this bad and unwelcome and uncomfortable ever in my life in a restaurant. As a person working for over 7 years in customer service related job I was shocked and extremely disappointed by the poor level of customer experience and service provided by this restaurant. There was only one guy that was actually nice a tried to explain to us how the restaurant works and how we can pick the food and build a “menu” in a way. Is it that hard to say something like “Oh you’ve never experience restaurant like this? Let me explain to you every step together” instead we were being made fun of and mocked in a way, by people that were actually SLACKING around doing nothing, like why do you need 6 people behind the counter when there was literally only one table with 2 people eating already, it’s not like it was a busy hour or something. I think those working at the counter at that hour should be maybe washing dishes at best and not interact with customers AT ALL, except the one nice guy who was actually the bigger person than his colleagues in this situations, he’s earned 2 stars from the review, otherwise it would be 1. The food was fine, but the behaviour made it tasteless, we couldn’t enjoy it at...

As one of the best Mexican fast food restaurants in Budapest, this place offers a great variety of choice. It is not the cheapest restaurant, but if someone is hungry and wishes to eat something exotic made of fresh and well chosen materials, this is the right place to go. I can recommend their burrito and quesadilla, and it is always a good choice to ask them in a menu, that is a better deal because it also includes tortilla chips with a dip of your choice (chipotle dip with sour cream is the best if you like hot and creamy dips) and unlimited drinks (you can choose from among 5-6 different soft drinks, but there is also horchata to try). If you want something lighter, you can have a good salad instead of the foods that are rich in carbohydrate and protein. If you intend to visit the restaurant multiple times, it's worth to ask for a card on which you can collect points after every dish you eat. Every 10th is then free. The only disadvantage of the place is that the toilets are downstairs (there is no lift, so it is hard for disabled people to use the toilets) and they are not the best...

Az a típus vagyok, aki még saját magát érzi rosszul, ha jeleznie kell valami kellemetlenséget, de nem mehetek el szó nélkül amellett, amit szombaton ebédidőben itt tapasztaltam. Direkt aludtam még rá, hogy ne első felindulásból jelezzek vissza, de ennyi idő elteltével is borzasztó méltatlannak érzem azt a bánásmódot, amiben részem volt. Egy itt dolgozó kolléganőn már eleve (bőven, mielőtt ránk került volna a sor), lehetett látni, hogy nagyon feldúlt. Meg is sajnáltam, hogy biztos rossz napja van. Fiatal hölgyről van szó, de ahogy a többi kollégájának dirigált, az alapján úgy tűnt, ő lehet itt a rangidős munkatárs. Már eleve azt is nagyon rossz volt hallgatni, ahogy hozzájuk szólt, de azt gondolom, hogy ahogy velem, mint vendéggel viselkedett, az bármilyen vendéglátóhelyen elfogadhatatlan lenne. Őszintén szólva az egész helyzettől köpni-nyelni nem tudtam, csak elkerekedett szemekkel néztem, hogy tényleg jól látok-hallok-e. Pattogó stílusban, és a végletekig frusztráltan tette fel egymás után az ilyen típusú gyorséttermekben jellemző kérdéseket, hogy az adott étel esetén választható opciók közül mit kérek. Ha nem sikerült az általa elvárt tempóban válaszolni, akkor még idegesebb, türelmetlenebb és gorombább lett. Még sosem jártunk ezen a helyen korábban, így mikor vissza merészeltem kérdezni, mert a hadarás / opciók mennyisége miatt nem is értettem, mit mondott, olyan stílusban reagált, hogy nem álltam meg a lábamon. A viselkedése miatt totál irritálónak éreztem magam, pedig ha valaki, akkor én nem vagyok egy körülményes vendég. Amikor a következő, ott dolgozó, amúgy tök kedves, szószokat adagoló srác kérésemre elkezdte mondani, melyik szósz mit tud (van vagy 6 féle), őt is irgalmatlanul leteremtette, hogy "ne magyarázza túl", és hogy kérdezzen csak annyit, hogy "csípős vagy nem csípős". Ezt a mondatot az előttem és utánam rendelő vendégek esetében is többször meghallgattam. Hát az eszem megáll, ha egy gyorsétteremnek ez a profilja, hogy sokféle összetevőből lehet összerakni egy menüt, akkor tán valamennyi időt és lehetőséget kéne hagyni szerencsétlen vendégnek, hogy megtudja, hogy miből választhat, illetve kiválassza, hogy mit szeretne. Aki életében először jár ott, annak is. És nem, nem kötelességem vendégként, hogy kívülről fújjam a menüt egy olyan helyen, ahol még sose jártam, csak betévedtem, mert elsőre szimpinek tűnt. A sor végén a pénztáros kolléga a szekunder szégyentől szemlesütve alig győzött elnézést kérni a kolléganő kritikátlan viselkedéséért, akin viszont továbbra sem látszott az önreflexió vagy a megbánás szikrája sem. Tök megértem, hogy milyen megterhelő lehet egész nap, órákon át azt kérdezgetni a vendégektől, hogy sós vagy sajtos chipset kérnek-e a burritojuk mellé, de ha valakinek ennyire megterhelő emberekkel dolgozni (értem ezalatt a vendégeket ÉS a kollégákat is), akkor érdemes lehet elgondolkodni azon, hogy megéri-e.
