I was served yesterday's fish and wasn’t warned about it.
I came closer to closing time, ordered fish, and for the first time in my life received fish at room temperature — at first, I even thought it was canned.
When it came time to pay, I found out the fish hadn’t been freshly prepared — not that day, not even that morning, but the day before.
I was too hungry and tired, so I ate it, and only afterward found out it was from the previous day. The person who took my order calmly said it just hadn’t been "properly reheated."
I said they should have warned me in advance that the fish was from yesterday — in response, I got nothing but a "sorry" and a bill for an amount that could easily get you fresh food in a really good restaurant in Budapest, not in a place where they serve yesterday’s fish with a pile of rice and a couple of small pieces of cucumber and tomato.
In my opinion, it was overpriced.
Also, the place had an overpowering smell of spices and stale air — I couldn’t breathe properly and had to eat outside despite the chilly weather.
A bit worn-out chairs and strange tablecloths didn’t exactly evoke a sense of freshness or cleanliness either.
An unpleasant experience. The taste of that fish lingered with me for a long time afterward.
Well maybe I was just unlucky to come too late so they wouldn't bother to provide fresh food...
Read moreWe visited Plataran Indonesian Restaurant and had a good overall experience. The food was delicious and tasted authentic. We ordered sup buntut, ikan bakar, and sate ayam for the kids, all were flavorful and well prepared. The portion sizes were also okay for the price. The server was friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. The restaurant itself is clean and beautifully decorated, with lovely batik touches that add a warm cultural feel. The only downside was the slow service time. We waited around 20 minutes for the food to arrive, even though we were the only customers at the time. Still, it’s a nice spot to enjoy good Indonesian food in a...
Read morePros: The owner was super friendly and the outdoor seating was really nice and cozy. If you’re an Asian tourist who hasn’t had Asian food in a while, this is definitely a place you should check out. And guess what? It’s a halal restaurant! Oh, and their ice tea is amazing it’s like Indonesian es teh!
Cons: We had to wait almost two hours for our meal, and we didn’t expect them to be short-handed since they only have two workers. Also, it’s not even lunchtime, so it’s not a great place for a big group. And the toilet is super stepy and wet because it’s in...
