I never ever posted review nevertheless how bad food was, but now i need to make an exception. Waitress was kind and professional and atmosphere was okay. But food, oooooh boy what a living hell. My girlfriend ordered carbonara and in info tab in menu it was labeled just “guanciale”. Great, original recipe carbonar, we thought. What can go wrong? What we get? Carbonara with peanut butter. WHAAAAT!? Because lasagna was out of menu at the moment, i ordered what waitress suggested. It turned out that it was some kind of noodles with milk cream and 3 peaces of sausage (some kind of smoked pork sausage that would you preferably eat for breakfast, not in pasta). What was even “better” are red onions on top of that. I know very well traditional Hungarian food, furthermore i grow up with lots of Hungarians. This is not “traditional” pasta, not even close. This is some kind of dish what would your grandma probably eat in 4th year of war when bombers are fling above head. Dinner was completely disaster. Maybe the meat or something else from menu is better, but regardless pasta, it is not even eatable. If any of Italians just smelled what we received tonight, they would scream and run up to Gellert hill to jump in Danube river.
However, Budapest and their people are always there to great me and i always feel...
Read moreThis restaurant must be on the list of any real foodie. Mind-blowing flavors with gorgeous presentation. Been there about a week ago and I must admit, this is possibly one of the best restaurants in the city. Frankly, is I could copy-paste this establishment to San Francisco or NYC, they’d need reservations weeks out. You can tell management have their game cranked up to the stratosphere: selective and thoughtful menu combining an exquisite atmosphere with high-end quality and freshness. The cocktails we had blew our minds as well, and most of all we received top notch service from entering, having the menu explained and being served. Keep in mind that the location is also at a perfect spot for lunch during your discovery of the city, right next to “Gellert” spa and across the big market hall, so you can realistically walk over the bridge whilst taking some must-have pictures of this city. I’m going to come here every day next time I come back to...
Read moreWe visited this place with friends for a suggestion. The location is really good: it's on Bartók street, which is quite popular nowadays and close to Gellért tér and Szabadság-híd (tram & metro station). In general, the food was nice and the staff as well but the service itself was slow and not accurate unfortunately. We were the 3 of us and ordered 3 meals but only got 2 in 3 different rounds. When 2 has been served, we thought we just need to wait a bit more for the 3rd one. After a while, we double checked with the guy if they knew we ordered 3 meals but they did not. We waited another 15 minutes and nothing happened. so we went to check to the bar if it's getting prepared but they had to be explained again. So the 3rd meal arrived after cc half an hour eventually. All in all, I know these kind of things happen from time to time even to the best places and we were not in a hurry so it was fine but I give 3 stars because of...
