Szpot — Restaurant in Budapest

I do not recommend this place, portions are small and they do not bring the food as it is listed on the menu. I asked for a “shrimp taco guacamole mango jalapeno” however there was no mango nor jalapeno in it, but they put half a tube mayo top of it which made it horrible. In addition when I asked the waitress to do it again kindly as there were missing ingredients and mayo wasn’t listed on the menu but it was on the food, they told me that they can only do it without mayo if I pay for the food twice, even though I wouldn’t eat it twice. For me it was a terrible experience to see that the waitress did not redo the food even after I asked if it is possible. I highly suggest to the restaurant to renew the menu so it could be more precise because it is unacceptable that ingredients are missing from the food and instead other ingredients are put in the dish. And on top of it they expect to pay...

Service was fantastic, that was the obvious high point if our meal. The terrace is not bad, neither is the interior. The food however is a different story. I am posting pictures of two meals which might sound nice on paper but are complete abominations.

The bao bun with grill dog tries desperately to be a culinary masterpiece of fusion kitchen but it ends up being a lukewarm bun with asian veg, paprika sausage and store bought fried onions. There are some things that just don’t work, even if it was executed properly, it’s just not a good combination.

The other is the asian fried chicken “tartare”. It is ice cold, overly sweet, with a weird mouthfeel to it, and it’s overall extremely boring, one dimensional. To add to this, we got soggy bread on the side, not even toasted, which is a grave shame.

Overall, service is good, food is not. Come here for drinks...

2024.06.25-én jártam itt. A felszolgálók/pincérek nagyon kedvesek. A kiszolgálás közepes forgalomnál is már kezdett akadozni. De még így is reális időn belül megkaptuk pontosan azt, amit rendeltünk.

Facebookon nem azonnal válaszolnak, de másodszori ráírásuk esetén rögtön reagáltak (24 órán belül kaptunk választ.). Plusz pont, hogy facebook üzenetben is lehet asztalt foglalni. (Bár ezt én nem tettem, mert nem tudtam, mikor érkezem.)

Pizza 11:30 és 15:00 között van az étlapon az aktuális menü mellett pluszban. Bár az ő általuk kihozott pizza közepe hiába volt finom, a szélei hamar keményedtek, és az alja helyenként égett volt. Pont ezért vagyok sajnos 4 csillaggal összértékelni, pedig nagyon közel lenne az 5-öshöz, de pont nem éri el emiatt.

12% szervízdíjat tartalmaznak az árak (de ezek az infók fel vannak tüntetve a menün is).

A hely egy tök jó szpoton van, hiszen közel vannak a villamosok, és a 4-es metró is megtalálható néhány percnyi sétára. Ráadásul kellemes benti hely, ahol a kiülős rész akár egy lépésre is lehet.

Én szerintem lehet egyszer még elnézek ide, és ha hasonlónak ítélem a pizzát megint, akkor olyan esetben a következő véleményemnél kifejtem, hogy nem ajánlom. De ha esetleg nem lesz ilyenben részem, akkor viszont mindenképpen...
