Terrible service. I came hoping to sample some local beers and get a decent meal. The waitress refused to help me pick beers, directing me to their mobile website. The website didn’t work - they appear to be doing scroll jacking, preventing you from scrolling normally. When I showed her that it didn’t work she told me it worked fine and it was my problem (reader: it very clearly wasn’t working). I asked which were Hungarian beers - she again directed me to the website (which didn’t appear to say).
I saw others had a tasting flight. I asked about that and she directed me to the website (which didn’t seem to mention it). I gave up and picked two random beers.
I had a burger - it was mediocre. Dry, over-cooked and over-salted. Came in a ridiculously over-sized bun. Service station quality. Chips and side sauces extra. You can get such good food in Budapest, yet I paid 7040 for this.
Come here for the beer selection, but not the food. And not if you hope the severs might know their beer and be interested in talking to...
Read moreThe beer selection is great. The atmosphere would be improved by turning the lights down about 80% and putting War Pigs by Black Sabbath on loop.
Staff seem generally unenthusiastic and don't want to engage in conversation about the beers. This is based on 2 visits at non-busy times with my Hungarian partner there and more than and happy to translate.
Didn't try the food.
Some weird stuff going on with a QR code... got mildly told off for walking to the bar and stating my order (despite the fact they have big screens there with the beer list, presumably for people to stand and look at and choose from?!)
Tbh it's the usual problem that making a bar good takes much more than picking beers and serving them. It's the flow and character of a place that has to be right, and this place doesn't have it.
Still good beer though, and the option to take away draft beers in...
Read moreRead moreCame for drinks first day because great selection of 30 (mostly) craft beers plus nonalcoholic options. Drinks and food very well-priced. I had the espresso tonic and a local NA beer, both were wonderful. Came back next day for their lunch "tasting" or daily menu option -- an excellent deal for excellent food. Soup, main, and a certain drink or dessert for less than 3000 ($9). The food is simple in concept, but carried out to a high standard – e.g., chicken thigh tempura with corn salad was above and beyond what one might expect. Same for potato sausage soup. my only complaint is that the lunch menu lacks options for soup and dessert – there is only one option per day, so you're out of luck if you have dietary restrictions (but they change, so at least they are fresh and well-considered). Would also be nice to substitute beer...
