Really good food with bad service. Used to order from here a lot and recently came to eat at the restaurant. We were 3 people and all the tables for 4 were taken or reserved. We emphasized that we were gonna stay for maximum half an hour and reservation was in 1h but waiter didn’t allow us to use that table. She could not speak English properly so basically we could not communicate. Then the waiter herself moved 2 small tables together so that we could sit, everything was fine but then she came back saying it was not okay and we have to move to a bar table. After discussion they decided to brutally kick somebody out from the big table so that we could sit there. Overall this traveling between tables worsened the perception so much that I’m not coming back or ordering from pompas again.
Upd: I honestly never check the ‘fate’ of my Google replies and I accidentally noticed the reply 2 years after. I would normally ignore it but this comment from restaurant made me so angry that I can not leave it. The incident happened 2 years ago but I still remember the situation very clearly. I am never the person to sit and the table that is reserved. And if we did it means the waiter wasn’t able to communicate that. We asked politely if it was okay to sit at the table that had a reservation in about 2 hours (we promised to leave in half an hour as I mentioned), to which waitress mumbled and left. How were we supposed to understand that that was a no? Because she even moved some chairs for us to sit. Anyway the part of your reply that says that a student left and offered a table is just lies. The waitress literally approached the girl and asked her to leave, to which she said that it’s not an issue and she planned to do so. The person was clearly just being polite. And even if she was planning to leave, the request of waitress was definitely the...
Read moreAs someone who's spent a lot of time in Italy and eaten at hundreds of pizzerias in NYC, I can say with certainty the pizza is very good here. It's also interesting that while the crusts are strictly neapolitan, they play around with the toppings a bit. You can find regional Italian toppings as well as the restaurant's own choices, which are creative without being too strange. What's funny is that they put more cheese on their pizzas than is typical in Napoli, but I won't complain, as I love cheese. I've had very good and quick service here and rather mediocre. Yesterday I ordered pizza in person to go and the three people who ordered after me all got their pizzas before me. Weird, as I only ordered one pizza. Also, they don't slice your pizza for you, so you have to do it when you get home and it can be messy. Update: still been going here for months. However, was yelled at by the pizzaiolo a few weeks ago when picking up my pizza. For...
Read moreWe went there as a team for lunch and instead of notifying us for a delay in serving us, they were completely outraged of us after we asked when we could expect the lunch. It was during the week, during business hours so many of us had important meetings after lunch hence we asked about the serving time. The food was ok but some were already cold when served. One side of the table finished when the other corner got served. The delay wouldnt have been a problem alone if we had been alerted, however the manner of the restaurant manager handling the situation was extremely unpleasant. Suggestions: always notify the customers of the delay (as we understood from the manager, there was a known issue so the whole situation could have been avoided), but if you fail to do so, when we, the customers start to complain, please handle us and communicate with us the right way not being outrageous in front of everyone in the middle of the restaurant. Very...
