Hinta Brunch (ÁTKÖLTÖZTÜNK A VIOLA UTCÁBA) — Restaurant in Budapest

It boggles the mind that a restaurant that is named Hinta Brunch and calls itself a breakfast restaurant can't even prepare an average tasting vegetable omlette.

Salt was added at the end of the preparation so most of the omlette is totally saltless (in fact it tastes sweet and bland) and only two small parts of the omlette have salt in them (an amount that is more than optimal).

It is August and fresh vegetables are plentiful but they unfortunately didn't find their way to Hinta with the exception of the red onion which was indeed fresh.

The mushrooms are tasteless button mushrooms from a can (I ate only one), the green leaf in the omlette was probably spinach but it seems to have been prepared in advance and kept in the fridge.

Even the small carrot pieces though crunchy are completely void of taste or flavour which suggests they are cut in advance and kept in the fridge.

As is now usual in Budapest there are no herbs and no spice 🌶 of any kind (in the photo you see the herbs and green chilli that I brought along with me else the omlette would be inedible).

The bread is low quality baguette and there is no butter of any sort.

I actually blame myself because at 09:50 am on Sunday, August 18th I was the only customer so the locals are surely avoiding it and so should you.

Sajnos alkalmunk sem volt megkóstolni a reggelit, pedig ígéretesnek tűnt az értékelések alapján a Hinta bistro és brunch is. A vendéglátás színvonala viszont átlagon aluli, mindkét helyen, ezért az értékelés. Azt képzelném, hogy ezen a helyen fel vannak készülve arra, hogy hétvégén az emberek jó időben reggelizni szeretnének külső helyszínen, ha már ugye ők is lehetőséget adnak erre… Ehelyett mindössze 10 perc leforgása alatt:

Hinta Brunch: nem teltház, két szabad asztal a teraszon, egyikhez ültünk volna mi. Bemegyünk, két nagyon kifáradtnak tűnő, unott lány a pult mögött az előttünk lévő külföldi csoportnak magyarázza, hogy nincs szabad asztal. Arra a kérdésre, hogy mit lehet reggelizni, odavágja, hogy azt, amit a pulton látsz, majd a másik kijön, két Metros toast kenyérrel a hóna alatt es hangosan közli a másikkal, hogy “én biztos nem csinálok már senkinek kaját”…

Néztünk egy nagyot, miután kiábrándultan tovább mentünk, de gondoltuk a Bistro nagyobb, adunk neki lehetőséget. Egyáltalán nem volt teltház, sok szabad asztal, kedvesnek tűnő hely, így bementünk.

Mondtam, hogy “Szia, reggelizni szeretnénk”. Erre a pultban álló hölgy köszönés nélkül feltartott kézzel magyarázza nekem, hogy “NEM ÉREK RÁ!!! Csücsüljetek le, itt az étlap, megyek majd nemsokára”… visszatettem az étlapot és azt mondtam, hogy köszönöm, ezzel a stílussal nem szeretnék “lecsücsülni” és egy forintot sem itt hagyni, tele van a Tompa utca más reggelizőkkel…

Sajnálom, hogy a színvonaltalan es felkészületlen vendéglátás miatt kell ilyen értékelést adnom, de nonszensz, hogy aki ezen a helyen nyit reggelizőt, nem teltház mellett (!) ilyen stílusban szolgáljon ki (mindkét helyen) és ilyen szinten ne legyen felkészülve...

When I ordered some food and coffee, the owner didn't acknowledge me or provide any information. He simply brought the items to my table afterwards, and I wasn't even certain if he had heard me. I'm feeling uncomfortable and apprehensive about approaching him with any questions. While it's possible that he's just having a bad day, I can't help but wonder if he's unfriendly towards foreigners (as he appeared to interact well with locals).
