🇮🇸✨ A Memorable Culinary Experience at Suður-Vík ✨🇮🇸

Dining at Suður-Vík was one of the true highlights of our Icelandic journey. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed into a warm, elegant, and inviting space—cozy yet refined, with a thoughtfully curated atmosphere that perfectly complemented the stunning surroundings of Vík.

🧀 The appetizer of baked Brie was simply exceptional—creamy, perfectly baked, and beautifully paired. It set the tone for a meal full of care and culinary craftsmanship.

🐟 For our mains, we tried both the cod and the Arctic charr, and each was absolutely delicious. Fresh, tender, and exquisitely prepared, the fish melted in our mouths and was seasoned with a delicate hand that let the ingredients shine.

💫 The service was equally outstanding. Our Sevillan waiter, Manuel, was not only kind and attentive, but also wonderfully charming—his attention to detail and warmth made the evening feel extra special.

We wholeheartedly recommend Suður-Vík to anyone visiting Iceland. It’s more than just a restaurant—it’s a true culinary experience, where exceptional food, impeccable service, and an intimate, atmospheric setting come together beautifully.

Had a very poor dining experience here. The service was the most depressing. The waitress showed absolutely no care or empathy when we asked reasonable requests for takeout boxes to bring our food to go due to one of our member’s illness. She was cold and said that they “do not have takeout boxes”. However, after we took a few bites of the food and asked another waitress for a takeout box, she was able to bring us one. Not to mention, the waitresses repeatedly brought us food for another table…not sure if they did any training for them.

It was just two of the many unpleasant interactions we had to have with the waitresses. Not sure what was wrong with the company culture, or if there was anything wrong going on in their lives, but the experience was so horrible that we would absolutely advise people to not come here. We ended up going to another soup restaurant one minute drive away that had significantly better service (with actual warmth and smiles) and way better ambiance in the restaurant. The food tasted ok. Only go here if there is no other place...

We were 6 and got seated on a narrrow table for 6 in a corner next to a small window in the back of the restuarant. It was an early eveing time and the sun was directly shining through the window and on the glasses and other reflective things. My wife has photophobia - extreme light sensitivity, which causes migraine so we asked the waitress (wearing glasses) to please move us to the other end of the restuarant where you enter from the stairs. There, we could see a table for 4 and another table for 2 side by side empty. She just refused. Asked us to move our table into the corner and pushed the table right on the wall. Well she needs to understand that making customers uncomfortable is not a goal of any restuarnt in the world. She could have easily accomodated us but well, there is no cure to being head-strong. We just stood up and left and actually found the Black Crust Pizza which was amazing and we visited it on a daily basis for our days in Vik. So the recommendation is to go to Black Crust Pizza instead of being dealt with rudely in...
