Great tap room serving all locally brewed craft beers, and the food is excellent👌
We stopped in half way through our first full day of travelling along the ring road, it was early evening - around 18:00 - and the restaurant area was fairly busy with a mix of travellers, tourists, and locals. The atmosphere had a warm and lively vibe.
The service here from the guys behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming, and they were very helpful with describing the taste of some of the beverages - there are some unusual ones to try but they taste great! The guys behind the bar are more than happy to let you try as many as you like before you settle with the one that tastes right for you.
The bar area is like something out of an old fashioned kitchen with white rectangular tiles, brass taps out of the wall, and big chalk boards full of food and drink options above and to the side, and the restaurant area is modern with an industrial touch which is kind of in-keeping with its industrial-like location. But, it all works and is very stylish. Toilets are modern, spacious , and relatively clean. But what’s cool is the sinks, they’re made of keg barrel tops - how wicked is that!
We only had some chips to share - which were cooked perfectly and were delicious - but we’d seen burgers and other food being served to other diners and it all looked amazing. There are several vegetarian dishes on offer too, which was great. You can either order at the bar or from your phone, and service is not a long wait.
This joint is definitely worthy of 5-stars in our opinion, and we would thoroughly recommend this tap room and restaurant to anyone passing through Vik. And we will definitely be stopping by again in the future, but for a full meal - or two - next time!
Thanks again SB!

Read moreit was pretty solid and I got to try a lamb burger. this might be a better location out of other ones in Iceland, but compared to many other places I’ve been to, it was just okay.
my group got three burgers (two normal and i got lamb) and a sampler.
food— my lamb burger was good. it tasted a little different than normal american burgers, but i genuinely liked it. i’d refer to the taste as gamey but I’m not entirely sure what gamey tastes like! just know, it tastes a little different than normal burgers.
the sampler… was not good, and honestly overpriced in my opinion. the food was pretty expensive for what it was, but I think that’s what Iceland is just like. i found the ribs bland, and the coleslaw tasted SO BAD it honestly tasted alcoholic? in a bad way. the potato salad tasted okay; it was sweet and tasted kind of apple-like, which is confusing because the menu says the coleslaw is apple flavored, not the potato salad. the pulled pork was solid, though! I didn’t try the wings so I don’t know.
service— it took SO long for our food to come out. like over 40 minutes. additionally, the servers were a little rude when interacting with them & dismissive. a couple that arrived after my group got their food ten minutes earlier…
atmosphere— it was definitely popular, the place was filled! that was pretty...
Read moreTop Notch Food!!! This is hands down one of my favorite places to eat anywhere on the planet! I’ve had the opportunity to visit Iceland many times over the years and i have found my self back here 7 times. The crispy chicken burger is in my opinion one of the top chicken sandwiches anywhere you can find in the world today! It’s truly a culinary gem. The soft fresh bun with the perfectly fried chicken thigh, cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato and a sweet mango chutney type spread. I dream about this sandwich when I’m back home in the US lol. It’s really that good. The fries are great and the onion rings are no slouch either! Dipping sauces for the fries and onion rings are plentiful and delicious. I enjoy the chili mayo, kokteil and BBQ sauce. The burgers and bbq here are also wonderful and being that this is a beer brewery, the beer is quite popular. I’m not a drinker myself but I’ve heard nothing but good things. I think if I was on death row and had to request a final meal, the crispy chicken burger from Smidjan Brugghus would be it! Overall I highly recommend the restaurant to anyone traveling through the south coast of Iceland and stopping by in...
