Astonished! I’m acknowledging the fact that however even in Iceland, try Icelandic food. But I gotta say, the road trip from Reykjavik to Vik was long, coming here to this place was blew me away completely. The interior was absolutely beautiful and VERY modern. Amazing view of the black sand beach with the water. I was very thrilled to have something hot.
Service was absolutely fantastic. The staff were absolutely incredible, fast pace and going even to take a step further to make you smile. When ordering, greeted by a lovely man who was more than happy to take my order in.
Order the noodles and it was just terrific. Blending of the flavors put together was very tasty. The mushrooms and the broccoli was a really good addition to the meal as well. The spice to it too was very impressive
Overall, this place is VERY good. Shooting for the top, I think I did see a paper saying one of the best Wok Places in Iceland, not surprised there of course of how good the food was! If you are in Vik, I would highly recommend this place IF and ONLY you are not going for...
Read moreThe food was not good especially for the price. I am a Chinese American and I respect regional differences for food but it was different not in a good way. I ordered the king and the noodles were over cooked and was very wet. It seems like it was supposed to be dry noodles but was very wet at the same time.
The flavor profile was mostly just soy sauce? They label the restaurant as Vietnamese but I would say it is more Chinese inspired.
I gave a 2 star review because the cashier was very nice and they used a gas powered stove with an actual wok which is a nice touch but if the technique and recipe is wrong, there isn’t much point in having an authentic set up for a wok.
Also the Lamb queen dish is dumped with sesame seeds. Sesame seeds are flavorless when raw, instead use a fraction of the seeds and toast them to add flavor?
Can’t recommend this for any tourist looking for their Chinese food fix. But If you’re a local, I guess there isn’t...
Read moreMy parents and I all got the pad Thai while we dined here. The service was very quick, and our food came out warm and with generous portions. They didn’t skimp out on the meat like many other places. Having this restaurant here was a lifesaver, since we were all craving Asian food, and this is the only option in the area as far as I’m aware. The food legitimately tasted better than the food I’ve had at a Thai Buddhist temple back home. Even after just having it yesterday, I was already craving it again this morning. The only thing I would say is that there isn’t much direction of what to do once you enter, but thats to be expected since it’s a small space tucked away inside of a gas station. However nothing was lacking due to this. There were many options for seating despite the small amount of room, and the booths were very comfortable. I would highly recommend eating here if you...
