My girlfriend and I went here for New Year's Eve. It was a pre fixe 4 course meal. It began with a breast. It was a very small portion but it was good. It's what you would expect from a high end restaurant. The second course was scallops with a white sauce. The sauce was amazing and the scallops were cooked perfectly. However, there was this stray pile of red peppers that kind of overpowered the dish. It provides nice color but they should've chosen a different vegetable. The third course was the beef tenderloin. This was very good and the highlight of the meal. The only downside was they had bland roasted potatoes with it. If they had a nice mash or rice, it would've absorbed the sauce better. The dessert was subpar. It was chocolate 3 ways with a tiramisu ice cream. The ice cream tasted as it should. The chocolate truffle was a bit dry on the inside. The white chocolate dessert was very gelatiny. Not a fan of the texture. The marscarpone was fine. Nothing special. At the end of the meal, they gave us free Champaign since it was my girlfriend and I's anniversary so this was a pleasant surprise. A decent restaurant but not worth the price tag. Read moreWe had a pretty disappointing visit. In a nearly empty place (only two others there), the manager didn't want us to sit at the bar but finally relented when we asked why he wanted us to sit at a table (he never answered). After sitting we asked the bartender about which cocktails where included in the happy hour specials and he told us they all were. We were later charged full price, instead of the half price advertised. We also overheard the manager criticize us for being "stupid tourists" who only came in for happy hour. Hey, if you don't want people to take advantage of happy hour, don't offer...DUH! This same manager was later overheard berating a new bartender. I only give this 2 stars instead of 1 because the bartender was really nice, and the cocktail was really good. We won't...
Read moreOur first night at the Canopy Hilton and we were bone tired from traveling so we decided to eat dinner here. We had the seafood soup, the catch of the day which was roasted cod with broccolini and risotto, and the roasted cauliflower which was very tasty and cooked perfectly. Everything was delicious! Service was efficient and a little more formal than I expected altho the restaurant ambiance was very relaxed. We also enjoyed a couple glasses of Riesling.
We also ate at the breakfast buffet here one morning. Plenty of hot and cold options, as well as cereals, fruit, veggies, and great tea and coffee. If you’re vegan or vegetarian, you’ll find plenty of options...
