Do not recommend. Did not get what I ordered and the staff lied repeatedly about it and was rude. I ordered the Chole masala chickpea dish but what I got was some kidney beans dish. The waiter was rude and lied twice to me when I pointed it out when I got the food. When it was time to pay I looked at the menu and it said chickpea, I pointed it out again to him, and told him I did not like that he lied to me, than another staff member comes and start’s to make up couple of different ridiculous excuses which are obviously lies, like the kidneybean dish was only today and I don’t need to worry about it. Why would he not had told me that when I ordered the chickpea dish? I again tell them it had not been a problem had they told me that they did not have chickpeas but being lied to again and again was not okay. She offers me a discount and I get 5% discount… that’s just rude, for a meal I did not even order. This was really bad and annoying experience.

Incredible food with a cute concept. We have been here on New Years Eve, thankfully he was open that day when usually it‘s closed on Saturdays. It‘s a little hard to find, but the little shop is super cozy and it’s generally nice to sit in front of the kitchen because the chef and owner is an insanely kind and nice person to talk to. The food itself was insanely good, I have tried many different Indian restaurants in Europe and especially Germany, but this one was on a whole different level. You can really taste the love this chef has to the food, and talking to him while enjoying this food only made it better. If you‘re on Iceland… go to Mama Rama. This is an essential. -Greetings from Germany PS: We got home safe, no snow storm!

This place is a little hidden, you have to go through Lenme bar, but it is amazing. The owners are ultra kind and wholesome, they want to make your order the best experience you can get(I asked for vegetarian variant and the chef said he sure can try it - and then asked if I liked it and for any criticism to make it better in future). The food was delicious and naans are very good. The chef is a master of his craft and he knows a lot about flavour. Highly recommend to anyone to try it and help them grow because they really deserve it.

We decided to have lunch there because of the high score and I must say we felt a bit disappointed. The quality of the food is not worth it's price. Quite expensive, even for Reykjavik, very few options and the food (I ordered the butter chicken) was kind of sour (like weirdly sour, not in a good sense) and greasy. My partner ordered the chicken masala and he also said it was kind of oily and not really flavourful. I think the only thing I actually enjoyed was the naan bread. I love curry and therefore I've been to many Indian restaurants, but I think this one would be definitely on my bottom 5.

Edit (to reply to the owner's comment): We went this afternoon (like 13pm more or less) and dined in. We didn't say anything there, we just thought that your curry was supposed to be like that so there was no point in asking for a change. Maybe we should have. Oh and we didn't know about the extra refill, but anyway... I don't think I would have asked for it, honestly, except for the naan. Your naan was really tasty, I really liked it. I'm sorry about the bad review, it's just my opinion. Maybe today was not your day or maybe I was not ready for that kind of taste. I might try it again if I come back to Reykjavik to see if it's better. Thank you very much....

I was at Mama Rama on 28th October 2022 for the dinner with my Swedish friend. Jonas and me are right combination to try out both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food from the restaurant.

As a pro-meat guy, I have ordered the controversial (bcoz Brits own it as if they had invented it) Butter chicken at 'Kill me' spicy level. I have thoroughly enjoyed BC with Naan & Rice and trust me, I am a hard nut to crack when it comes to my choosiness and high-end palette to authentic, tasty, traditional & spicy food. Arjun did 200 % job to pamper my foodie soul. He is truly a Food Viking from Indland (well, he got that lineage as Rajput and as food lover).

The Naan itself is unique in a way that how it is sourced and made and I have no hindrance to say that it is the King of all Naans in Iceland, I bet and you loose!.

Finally, it is not at all on 'Kill Bill' scale , meaning to say that it is very reasonably affordable Indian...
