On a cool and wet Wednesday morning, my wife and I stumbled in here looking for coffee, and we weren't disappointed. They have a good coffee menu, but my hint is to take the house coffee at Kr400. It's in a flask at the end of the bar, together with cups and cream, and it's free refills. Superb value and an excellent drinking coffee. By all means, pay more for your cappuccinos and the like, but if it's coffee you like, you will not be disappointed in their house brew. Staff were friendly and the cafe had locals and tourists in - a good sign as locals stay away from tourist traps. This cafe proudly states on the outside that it's been here since 1951, and it isn't difficult to feel that sense of longevity inside, as few concessions have been made to modernity. But it's brill, cosy and welcoming - what more would you want?

Vegan review: Vegan brunch, big portions, great coffee, quick service, lovely staff Stopped here as it was the nearest option listed on happy cow! The interior left a lot to be desired and it’s not somewhere I would typically opt for, seats that were worn and needed upholstering, quite a dark and dingy pub. I ordered a soya caramel latte which was really good! To eat I ordered a vegan brunch (the second of 2 options was a vegan burger) it came with sausages, potatoes, avocado, baked beans, sourdough toast, grilled tomato, herb mayo (very good!) and sliced oranges. It was ok, the portion was very generous. The service was really quick too. For 2 main meals and 2 drinks it was £32.11.

Prikid is a cool corner cafe in the heart of the shopping area of Downtown Reykjavik. They specialize in Breakfast and Lunch food. We stopped in several times for morning coffee, and those beverages were terrific. The menu accommodates all kinds of tastes and desires, whether you want local pastries, sandwiches, hot drinks to warm you up or cold drinks (draught beer) to calm you down. The atmosphere is cozy, and relatively quiet. The cafe doesn’t seat many people, but there is constant activity, with people coming and going with food and drinks. The staff does a great job of keeping up with tempo of the clientele.

Best pub I went into in Reykjavik. Happy hour until 8pm at under £6 a pint and then up to circa £8.50 at standard prices, so not too shabby for the City This is a local’s bar unlike pretty much anywhere else you’ll find in central. Not a problem, as everyone speaks English, so you get to delve into the local personas. The pretty ginger bar girl expressed an edgy outward personality but was actually quite sweet. She owned the bar area and helped glue together the disparate Lost Boys I encountered sat on the bar stools. It created a familial feel that the background music helped keep steady. Would like to have stayed longer to see how these characters developed but alas, it was my last night. Maybe I’ll return to figure out what happened to this Icelandic “Cheers set” one day…in any case a fun night and one I’d recommend to others if they have a few hours to spare to soak in the atmosphere, because more than anything, that is what this pub has to offer. It’s the crystallisation of the local pub experience,...

My husband and I have been here twice so far and plan to spend our last time in Reykjavik here. It's incredibly comfortable and has the most affordable coffee in town.

When we first arrived in Reykjavik we had to wait a long time to get into our apartment - and we had had 0 sleep on the flight in. Going on 24 hours with no sleep I fell asleep at the table over my coffee (roughly 3 dollars for a coffee and refill). They didn't say anything (which was really really nice of them), and we liked the place so much we came back a day or two later to do work and have dinner. The food is generous in portion size and they serve breakfast all day. It's also one of the cheaper places around, and all the servers are friendly. If you're like us, you also look for outlets so you can get work done - they have outlets, especially upstairs.

We'd 100% recommend this place, it's really worth a visit, especially if you're tired or need a casual...

Went for breakfast and the food was very good. I had the steak and eggs and my husband had the Snoop Dog burger. The server was friendly, HOWEVER, check your receipt for accuracy before paying. She charged us 2700isk for each of our drinks that were supposed to be 2200. While it definitely could have been a mistake, I am not sure that it was because when she brought the bill, she didn't hand it to me. She put it on the table and immediately put the credit card machine on top of the bill and just told me the total. I paid for it and looked at the bill after she walked off. She did make it right when I brought it to her attention though so I am thankful for that. Again, it COULD have been a mistake and I hate to accuse anyone of something they didn't intend to do, but at the end of the day, just make sure to go over your bill prior to paying. Overall, it was a nice little bar/cafe...
