This looked promising from the outside, but I wish we’d gone somewhere else. Ordered 2 fish and chips and 2 beers, equivalent of about £60 GBP. Food came in plastic bowls so was difficult to eat, had to get your own cutlery etc. Very greasy and didn’t really taste of anything, chips were just frozen cheap oven chips chucked in a fryer. Tartare sauce was probably the highlight of it. I know everywhere in Reykjavík is expensive but there are so many better, fresher and tastier places to spend your money; the street hotdogs are better than this place. This was poor fast food at best and didn’t justify the high price tag at all. I was sick the next day and I’m pretty sure is was the greasy food here.
Also has silly hanging lights above the tables that are just the right height to clobber your head on - we smacked our heads getting up and down / taking off coats 3 or 4 times, I’m surprised we didn’t break anything.
Staff were friendly enough on the very limited interaction we...
Read moreWe have ordered fish and chips, mixed fish pan and a green salad. It’s simply not tasty. Fish from fish n chips had literally no taste…at all. Green salad was with such amount of vinegar in it that I thought I will start crying right at the table and people will think my husband is breaking up with me right now. The mix fish pan appeared to be a mix of two fishes and some mussels and it was not tasty. The sauce which all those were in was just bad tasted. The food was brought 50 seconds after we made the order. Sorry but I expect smth more than just to eat chips for 60 damn € euros in the restaurant with no service and not a friendly guy who takes orders. 1 star for chips and the place itself was...
Read moreTourist trap. I would avoid. There must be better fish and chips to be had in Reykjavik. Paid 73000 ISK for 2x fish and chips a side salad and a small glass of beer. 300 ISK each extra if you want sauce. This wasn't super clear when we ordered. The fish (cod) was tasteless and watery. The chips bland, the salad (extra 600 ISK) below par and regular 400ml Gull beer 1300 ISK. Rip off! Made me question why I was eating fish and chips in Iceland to be honest. Probably a silly decision even though they're a fishing nation. If you've had them in the UK you'd get them 10x the quality for -10x the price at a regular fish and chip chop. On the plus side the...
