Second time at inamo but last time was with the old technology 7+ years ago. The place has really gone down hill sadly. I think there are 3 main areas of disappointment: 1) Food: Mostly cheap, low quality and in our case varied temperatures of the same dish and bizarre waiting times and delays. First starter came fast, then main after 30m post order (after highlighting we were in a rush for the theatre), then main, then when dessert should arrive other starters. Overpriced for cheap low quality party food. I think likely due to these cheap bottomless options. 2) Service: Brought the wrong food 3 times and wrong drinks to our table & food arrived after others who ordered after us (significantly so). I saw this happen to 3 other tables, they CONSTANTLY brought the wrong food and drinks out. I think everyone is using this bottomless sushi deal so they had priority at the expense of a la carte customers. Some servers were rude and slammed drinks that spilled and broke the screens functionality too. They also tried to kick us off our table, no joke with less than 5 minutes after our food finally arrived & served us the wrong bill at the end 🤣 It felt like the entire place was brand new staff who have never worked in a restaurant before. 3) New but worse technology: in most cases newer upgrades = better, but this has been terribly thought out. The larger touchscreen they opted for is very unresponsive/slow and often buggy. It freaks out with liquid which is a nightmare for anyone eating or drinking. The software may be slow but itself isn’t awful. The old touchpad and mouse would actually work better in this case or a more responsive multitouch screen with screen distribution more thoughtfully laid out, e.g to the side for each person, not where dishes are to minimise spillage causing chaos (video attached) and eventually unable to order the bill 😂 One funny thing is their enter competition app just shows a QR code that gives a “met the maximum number of redirects” meaning they haven’t even kept up payment for the QR code 🤣 Bonus: Layout & style. Inamo used to be a beautiful restaurant with a cool novel feature. But the place is dated, keeping the projector shells that are now empty feels lazy and wish such little investment and cost cutting while keeping prices high I am shocked its ratings are still so high. I would’ve given 1* but the staff did seem genuinely apologetic for the many mistakes which I do appreciate which rescues a star. But I can’t in my right mind give this a 3*, it was the worst experience of hundreds restaurants I’ve done in London at over £50 per head. I still find the fact it was expensive on top is insane, I’m sure there’s been a big change in management and operations, but very much for the worse.

I had read some reviews with some reviews which had low ratings recently and whilst it was ominous, we were still hoping for the best despite this. Unfortunately, the negative reviews were accurate in their concerns and the whole experience was extremely disappointing. Food: Disappointing is the best way I can summarise it all as it wasn't great. For a sushi and tapas all you can eat, we were hoping that we could've had more of a selection as on the whole we felt that it was rather limited even though we did try most of it. The best thing on the menu were salmon, the beef and the fried chicken but they were still just okay at best. Service: The first waiter that we had was really nice, courteous and patient with us as he explained the menu. However, we also had one instance with a waitress who was extremely rude to us which entirely mired the experience as well as didn't make an effort to tell us when to leave, and tried to kick us out. They also didn't communicate clearly with us that we were near the end of our service and it unfortunately left a strong impression on me and my friend who filed a complaint to the manager. Fortunately, what salvaged this situation a little was the manager who we felt handled things well so I appreciated the manager and the first male waiter as stated in the first paragraph as they both were helpful, courteous and understanding. Atmosphere: Unfortunately, for a Friday night this was also extremely muted as well. Perhaps it was because we were sitting on the bottom floor, but it was just us and one other family when we were there. It's a shame, because this venue could've been absolutely electric. We were hoping that we could've had a wonderful experience with the games provided and the all you can eat but this place unfortunately did not deliver that.

Summary: Do not waste your time or money. First of all, we got a reservation and chose the post-theater menu of £26, which gives you a choice of 4 dishes/pers "from a list of 22 possibilities", as they advertise. The list counds with barely 4/5 dishes that had some kind of fish and/or meat (and if you don't like spicy, you end up with only 3 options), being all the veggie options a clear attempt to ensure that the people chosing those set menus would keep the choices within the set price. Additionally, it is quite striking than being a set menu it is not included any drinks (not even water) nor the service charge. So you expect a controlled price, but you end up paying a bill that more than the initial price by just adding a water bottle (which is filtered from the sink, btw - they brought a sparkling water bottle that we were assured it was filled with still water). Most importantly, the food is quite plain and unimaginative. Adding the same chili spice to half the dishes, you can barely taste the difference between one's flavour to the other. It is also poorly done, with the korean wings being chewy and undercooked. The biggest draw of the place is clearly the use of ICT both for interaction and for the client's amusement. An image displayed on the table allows choosing items from the menu, see the (potential) aspect of the dish and the ingredients, place orders and ask for the bill. However this system is not equally used to keep record of what they deliver, as they kept forgetting which dishes were missing. Finally, there is a clear difference between the main room and the downstairs room: while the first has tenuous lighting and ambiance music, the second is underground, has the busy door of the kitchen and more light (meaning, less "ambiance").

Definitely trading off its gimmicky premise (interactive table top menus and games), Inamo has good service but is more of a destination than a restaurant. The interior is clean but starting to look a little faded (this branch has been open since 2008 apparently), but thanks to the interactive menu, which includes a call button, an option for tracking your orders and paying your bill, the service is also swift and efficient, That said, despite the electronic gimmickery, there was still a mistake with fulfilling our order. However the food is largely disappointing. The yuzu pork was overcooked and served with too little of the yuzu sauce that provided all the flavour, the yakitori sticks were eye wateringly priced, staggeringly small (1 stick with 3 small chunks of meat for £3.50-£4.50) and again devoid of any flavour apart from the piffling amounts of sauce. I've never been to an Asian restaurant of any description that (over)cooked and served completely unseasoned meat and relied on sauce for all the flavour. The salmon teriyaki was fine but avoid the lemon chicken yakitori (imagine chicken served with a tablespoon of anaemic lemon curd - no, really) and the lamb skewer (flavoured with minted butter!) The only noteworthy dishes were the spicy, flavourful Sichuan chicken, and the unexpectedly moreish caramelized miso lime cashews. Altogether overpriced and lacking the punchy, umami flavours I would associate with East Asian cuisine, this Pan-Asian venue is better bypassed in favour of the superior offerings of Gerrard St and the surrounding area, a mere 4 minutes walk away.

Defo an experience. Came here for a pre valentine's date night on a groupon. Was a fair price but we upgraded to the unlimited food for an extra 15 per head. Pros: Staff were nice and polite, came to clear empty plates from the table very promptly and also gave a good introduction of how ordering works. Nice range of dishes included in the set menu so lots to choose from. The interactive tables were defo a quirky pleasure which was fun. Lovely atmosphere and the fact it's on Groupon was great. Portion sizes are really good per plate of food ordered. Cons: Only reason this didn't get a 5 star from me as the food came out not very hot and we didn't get all the food we ordered as the time limit of what we had was approaching we didn't chase it up to be fair. Some dishes served with shredded lettuce that was dried up so not too appealing. Also the drinks are really expensive. Small glass of lemonade is pretty much around £4 which we felt was way too much. Sushi wasn't quite hitting the 5⭐ mark for me as it was a bit rubbery. Overall: We had a really nice evening overall andleft with full bellies. I would defo say if you want to eat here head to Groupon before parting with the full price as I don't feel it would be great for everyone (especially with the rise in interest through social media). Few things could be made better (the sushi just being a bit fresher as this is reflected in the taste) and just the prices of the drinks I would say are the biggest areas that could be revised, but overall a nice place to eat out

I think this was the most regrettable £99 pound spent in a long time. A few dishes were good but they were in no way, shape or form worth the price. The bao bun with chicken was superb, the pork with cabbage was good (even if I didn’t understand the half kilo of just roughly chopped cabbage which was thrown on top). However, we were served rice which was half dry, the sweet and sour chicken was not warm and had a soggy batter. We had an off peak deal with £29 for any four tapas. How can you make rice one of those dishes? RICE? It costs nothing to produce in comparison to the other dishes, it should not have been one out of four tapas dishes when paying 30 quid.. The service was not great. Firstly, no one asked how the food tasted. We were seated by a lady whose name I do not know as we were not told. About 55 minutes in she asks if we want to order any more dishes as our time slot is coming to an end. We say no and literally 20 seconds later she is stood behind us with a card machine. She didn’t leave the receipt at the table and get back after a couple of minutes as you usually do. She just stood and stared at us until we got our card out. Very odd. It felt like as we were not adding any more food to the bill we were indirectly asked to pack up and get out. The screens are a nice touch however they are very outdated. Slow response time, unclear what to press in some cases and just an archaic look. It felt like I was back in 2005. Would I come back? No. Severely overpriced and not worth the money at all.
