My opinion: - Parking has to be managed along the road. Pls lookout for the police towing vehicle.
Visit was aimed at experimenting the latest vegan restaurant in town. A typical South Indian Veg restaurant, newly opened with decent seating capacity, appears to have less space between tables. Comprehensive menu with both south and north Indian items, though cost slightly on the higher side. Four chutney dish plate on the table was tried as the order was being prepared (green, red, white and cream). Found to be yummy, special mention for the green one with ginger/Mirchi/sugar. Reminder are to be given for refilling the chutneys, which was strange.
We ordered for pizza dosa and erra Karam dosa with Bombay chutney and french fries. Urdu vada looks tempting but was unlucky as it wasn't available. ''Chef isn't available anymore'' was the explanation given for non-availability of Urdu vada. Strange!!!
The pizza dosa was presented well & tasted pretty nice with crispy Dosa base, smeared with gun powder, Had the taste of homely food and Erra Karam dosa with Bombay chutney was really impressive with right amount of crispiness and oil.
Stewards needed to be reminded of serving sambar as it didn't come naturally to them for along with our order. Stewards were generally observed to be slow and slack, less interested to help.
Average ambience with paintings and potted plants, appears to be neat and clean, thanks to Covid-19. On a day of rush, I would wish to avoid the place view less space between tables.
First table was found to be occupied throughout since we entered, later known to be owner n family. As they came to sort out a transaction issue promptly. A separated or private chutney for them will go a long way.
Portions served are inappropriate to the cost in the menu, but the chutney paraphernalia kept on the table was really impressive.
#BonAppetit #Cards & Cash accepted. #Got to be on the toes for getting the stewards draw your attention as they are the busiest or pretend to be busy around. #They only provide bottled water, that too a brand which is unheard of, which they themselves are advertising. Carry own...
Read moreI have been hearing a lot from my friends about this place called - House of Dosas - which I haven't explored while I was in Hyderabad. But luckily while being in hometown owing to lockdown could get a chance to visit HOD 😁 in Vizag. The place was hygienic and the menu card is very informative which tells us about all the dishes that are available as per timings. Interiors were good and there was enough space between tables so that it doesn't get crowded, may be one disadvantage for the eatery in welcoming the guests is Parking issue(which ideally should be resolved)at the earliest because coming summer season people would surely prefer to have food outside of home.
Coming to the taste, all the items which we ordered were giving us the satisfied result-I Would rate 5 stars for food.
May be some more healthy variants can be added which can attract the new age healthy freaks to the franchise who are willing to pay premium prices.
Few improvements I would suggest to owners is to advise the stewards to let their fear go and have a cordial welcoming gesture towards the customer which I thought was lacking.
May be proper training would help them which will increase the rapport building with regular customers and also they can engage new customers for more time which in turn increase revenue.
Once this steward issue is resolved, that one star would be added to HOD 👍
Adding the latest entry to the review, the costliest dosa - 916KDM - added photos for...
Read moreWe had a bad experience with this restaurant. Since we visited Vizag after many days, we thought of going out to dine and chose this restaurant because of its name and fame. But to our disappointment, we were faced with the manager Mr. Janardhan, telling us that extra raita would not be served only after we ordered food and were midway eating. After providing 4 raita for 2 fried rice, they denied serving further raita. Since we were a family of 7 including 3 children, we requested for some more raita. But he flatly denied serving raita. Such a cheap guy who is unwilling to serve raita in a so called big restaurant. Finally, we offered to pay for extra raita when he agreed to serve. The moment we understood the Manager's mentality, we immediately left the place. Even the serving was not upto the mark. Initially when we ordered Pizza Dosa for the kids, they wanted Sambar. The Sambar was very promptly served just when the Dosa was about to be finished. We requested for hot water to all of us. But only 3 glasses of hot water was given and further hot water serving was denied. We should have understood the place's etiquette and it's people's dignity then itself. But it did not take us long before their entire behavior was shown. The serving was also not being done promptly. I can go on. But I believe this should be sufficient to show the attitude of Mr Janardhan and his staff... Not going to...
