Read moreFirst the place is heavily crowded. The service men who serve at takeaway don’t have time to hear you out or help in picking a dish that is their speciality, the dish you'd like to order/finalize. You need to wait for 45 mins to get a space for TWO. The seating arrangement especially for two people is bad, the chairs are uneven and the table is in the middle of the other two rows where by people keep moving from both side and gives the feel of being seated in middle of busy market. The prices of the dishes are on the Higher side/Costly. Time taken to take order, serve two for a couple of dishes takes 30 min or more. LAST BUT NO THE LEAST. The QUALITY RATHER THE TASTE OF FOOD SERVED: Ordered Jeera rice, Chicken Hyderbadi and Kalmi Kebab for two. The rice seemed to have too much of Jeera (Cumin) in it. The Kebab (Two leg pieces) were not great but cooked well. Coming to the bad part, the Chicken Hyderabadi gravy was high on salt, extremely salty (may be the cook added salt twice) to even have it with the plain Jeera rice and hardly could notice any other flavours. The gravy had hardly any pieces in it, most of it was Chicken bones. Informed the person who served it and to the Owner of the Restaurant. They showed No Remorse on the quality of food. Only comment I got from the Owner was “Every day is not a Sunday”!. Got a replacement for the curry left over (as we could not eat it) with another curry (Murg masala) which was equally bad in taste. What a WASTE of TIME and MONEY.!! First impression the last impression. Never Visit Al-Bek, R.T Nagar again.!!! WAITING TIME/ TIME TO BE SERVED: 01/10. SEATING ARRANGEMENT for two: 0/10. PRICE: 1/10. TASTE : 0/10. OWNER'S...
Disappointing Experience at Al-bec Restaurant
I recently visited Al-bec restaurant at 12:40, expecting a satisfying meal. Unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. Upon entering, I was informed that no tandoori items, including bread, were ready. This limited my options, and I settled for romaali roti and chilly chicken gravy. However, the gravy was a disappointment - it lacked flavor and was below par in terms of quality.
To make matters worse, our server seemed more interested in taking a break than attending to our needs. After serving us, he proceeded to take a lunch break in the pantry, leaving us unattended. Meanwhile, three more tables were occupied, and I considered going back downstairs to the counter to follow up on our order. Fortunately, the server returned to attend to us as the restaurant started getting busier.
The server's recommendation of a lolly pop was also a misfire. The dish was unappetizing, resembling a leg of meat loosened with kebab masala and deep-fried. It barely resembled a lolly pop.
Overall, my experience at Al-bec restaurant was underwhelming. Unless you're in the mood for biryani, I would not recommend visiting before 1 pm. The restaurant's service and food quality have clearly declined, and the ambiance has suffered as well. The ceiling shows signs of seepage, giving the restaurant a shabby...
Read moreAl-Bek Restaurant - I order Biryani rice and waiter said it's not available and this happened 3 times to me. On third visit they said same thing and I was surprised to that Biryani Rice is served at the next table. I asked manager how can you server if it's not available and then he said we had little left so. I gave 1st order they said no and then it was served at next table. I understood that they want us to buy Chicken biriyani instead of only biriyani rice and the other reason is if they say no biriyani rice then we will buy something else which is again left excess with them. I would not recommend anyone because they are forcing us to have what is left with them instead of what we desire to have. At the end Manager felt guilt and came to me and asked do what biriyani sir I said NO THANK YOU. GOOD Job Al-Bek but sorry I am not interested to have what is left at your Restaurant. This is not...
