Who doesn't like going to Pretty cafes and bars? And it won't be an exaggeration if I say that this is one of the most aesthetically pleasing places in whole of Bangalore.
AMBIENCE:
The place is located on the ever bustling 12th Main of Indiranagar on the ground floor of a mansion. The place has been done beautifully with each nook and corner designed differently. The curtains, the greens, the couches, the wood, the shimmery lights and every intricate detail is just a treat to the eyes. The place has a bar near the entrance. There is indoor and outdoor seating where the outdoor seating immediately teleports you to the pretty cafes of Pondi.
FOOD AND BEVERAGES:
What makes their menu stand out from other pubs and bars is that they have umpteen number of options for vegans and vegetarians, who otherwise gets sidelined.
We started with Buddha Bowl which was really healthy and fresh mixture of mushrooms, tofu, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, beans and quinoa. It was quite filling too and can be served to two people. Next I tried the Grilled Cheese in Parmesan dip which had a very good smoky essence to it.
Next we ordered Vegetable Kibbeh and Spinach & Ricotta Gnuddi. Kibbeh were pretty average but Gnuddi was something new which I had and these were delicious, amaranth and spinach never tasted better with toasted pine nuts.
For beverages, I had Lemongrass Ice tea with Jaggery, this was super delicious and kind of healthy too.
For mains, we had Red Rice Risotto and Shrooms Pizza. Red Rice Risotto was a bit dry on the palate but no complaints about the taste, super healthy too. Shrooms Pizza is one of the best thin crust pizza ever with wild mushrooms, mozzarella and parmesan imparting major flavor.
For desserts, we had Vegan Tiramisu and Oreo-Peanut butter cake. Loved both the desserts but the Tiramisu was my favorite and a must to order here.
SERVICE AND COSTING:
The service was extremely good with food taking no time to reach the table even on a busy Friday night. The staff is mannered and humble. The place is a bit steep on the pocket but worth the experience.
All in all, a great place to have good conversations in a beautiful place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAnother beautiful place which you can go to without thinking twice. With the beautiful Bangalore weather this place is just right to spend a long afternoon lunch or a relaxed dinner. See it to believe it. For me in ambience this place comes very lose to being at the top. Coming to the food, I went there with work colleagues on a weekday. The place was calm even if it is bang on the 12th main of Indira nagar (just next to phobidden fruit). For starters we ordered Lavash, a Mexican bowl and grilled prawn skewers. The Lavash was the best through the whole meal. A simple dish but the smoothness of the dip and the perfect balance of the garlic in them with the crispy pitas accompanied with it made my week. A colleague(non-veggie) laughed when I ordered it and said how lame to order a lavash but when it was presented and we eat it, he had to swallow his words back :) . The Mexican bowl was huge and the dressing was perfect. Cannot get healthier than this, so if you are watching your carbs this bowl is sumptuous and nutritious to take you through till dinner. The prawn skewers were good too but nothing extraordinary, you can skip that and order some other starter in the non-veggie list. For main course a chicken noodle soup and railway style mutton was ordered. Every spoon of the noodle soup was filled with asian flavors and was a huge portion to actually be enough for two. The second best dish was the railway style mutton. The millet parathas were a little crispy but still soft and the mutton pieces in a dark brown curry cooked to perfection was a delight to eat. I being a veggie couldnt resist and grabbed half a triangle of the paratha atleast š. We were soo impressed with the food that even though we were full we ordered a dessert to share -The Indian Royalty, basically shahi tukda. This turned out to be a bummer. Overly sweet and adding milkmaid on top just killed it. I would request the restaurant to change it, you dont want to leave your consumer with this last impression. But I would come back again for sure for trying some more dishes of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDespite having such good rating of 4+ on zomato, this place turned out to be disappointment. Cute cafe like ambience but bad food n drinks. To start of, we ordered cocktails a gin based and vodka based cocktails. The gin was literally lemon soda with alcohol and vodka based had next to negligible traces of lavender. Then for the food, the waiter suggester broccoli and cigars and they tasted just like gobi sabzi spring rolls. These were followed by Lolaās love a signature flatbread of Bohemians but the loads of arugula and caramelised onions could not hide the chewy base and āfeta cheeseā which was supposed to be goat cheese. Then finally we ordered dessert āfresh fruits and cream cakeā and were expecting a moist cake with fruits (the general version) but that turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the day!!! It was a layered dessert with layers of marie biscuits, whipped cream which was set like ice cream and strawberries with coconut shavings on top as garnish. Not sure how is this a cake! For a place which is in one of the prime locations of Bengaluru, surrounded by so many competitors. bohemians must really think about their menu and the quality of their food. For if they continue like this they might lose their business very soon! Also, a suggestion to the restaurant, if their chef plans to step outside his kitchen atleast he could wear cleaner aprons and chef coat. Well, yes before people think clothes get dirty in the kitchen, i saw the chef at 12:30 when the restaurant opens at 12 and I understand that the food isnāt prepared right at the time the restaurant is opened but kitchen dirty is different and brown and black marks on white like a coat which is unwashed since a long time is definitely something one can make out.
I have no hatred or grudge against the place but these are basic things a restaurant must note. And the two stars is not for the place but for the...
