S.M.T was one of the few hotels in my wishlist since long and finally I got chance to visit their Indiranagar outlet and it was really worth..
ใMenuใ
Menu features authentic Kerala dishes. They don't have vast no: of items on their menu. The presentation of the items with a laconic description for each items on their menu card is impressive.
ใAmbiance & Decorใ
Place is clean and well mainted with good interiors. It gives you a restful environment to dine in with friends and family.
One of the walls is illustrated with the photos of legendary people from Kerala and they use to play karaokes of evergreen malayalam movies.
They don't have car parking and one has to park their vehicle on the roadside.
ใServiceใ
Service is good. Staffs are courteous. So far I had a good customer service experience in S.M.T
ใPaments & Cost ใ
Payment is accepted through both ๐ณ & ๐ต. Cost of the dishes is on the higher side and it costs more than 1k for 2 people.
ใFood and Beverages ใ
So I had a good dining experience in S.M.T and I was able to taste few of their dishes.
(1) Kerala Meals ๐๐๐๐๐
Their Kerala Meals is really awesome. One of the most sought out dishes here. Whenever I visit this place during lunch time most of the customers will be having Kerala Meals only. I have seen many non keralites too coming here for having this scrumptious Kerala Meals. The cost of Veg meals is around Rs 165.
Meals are served on a plantain leaf. The accompaniments like chammanthi (chutney) and pickles are served separately on glasses exclusively for us and thus we will get ample quantity of it.
The side dishes provided were delicious. For meals they will offer you a welcome drink. I had got lemon juice and a payasam as a complimentary desert.
Apart from Veg meals. They Will offer chicken fry meals , Beef fry meals and fish fry meals too. The price of these are expensive when compared with Veg meals.
Malabar chicken Biriyani ๐๐๐๐โญ
Their chicken biriyani is really good. I use to order their chicken Biriyani in most of my visits . Chicken biryani is served along with salad , papad, pickle and chammanthi. The accompaniments taste good too.
Price of the chicken biryani is around 225 rs. For a Chicken biryani they will offer a small bottle of thumbs up as complimentary. Quantity is ample.
(3) Irachi coconut fry ( Beef coconut fry) ๐๐๐๐๐
One of the mouth watering dishes I have tried from here. Their irachi coconut fry is really awesome and it is so good to have them with meals. Price of this is on the higher side and it's costs around 225 Rs.
Quantity is less when compared with the price but it tastes really good. The best one I had in Bangalore so far
(Highly recommended)
(4) Appam and pachamulak chicken curry ( Green chilly chicken curry). ๐๐๐๐โญ
I had tried the above combo in my last visit to S.M.T. the pachamulak chicken curry is a good combination to have with Appam. It is analogous with chicken stew and it is not spicy at all even though the name can give you a different perspective.
The above combo is recommended. The price of the curry is also around 225 rs. Most of their curry dishes are in the range of 200 rs only.
(5) Kreme Kerala (๐๐๐๐๐)
One of the best deserts here. Its a caramel pudding and it's really luscious. I would personally suggest everyone to try this once . The price is 125 rs
(Highly recommended)
(6) Butter milk & Nellika Magic
Butter milk was also good and it was served in a big glass. Quantity was ample too. Price was 75. Nellika Magic was quite bitter in taste and looked green in colour. Price was Rs 85.
What I liked the most from here:
Malabar Chicken/ King Fish Biriyani - Rs 325/ Rs 495 Beef Pepper Roast (Awesome Dish) - Rs 375 Prawns Ghee Roast Rs 365 Butter Milk - Rs 75 Kreme Kerala (Dessert) - Rs 125 Kerala Meals Irachi Coconut Fry
ใVerdictใ

ย ย ย Read moreSalt Mango Tree, a delightful culinary escape in the heart of Bangalore, offers a taste of Kerala that captivates the senses. Stepping into the restaurant, the ambiance immediately transports you to the vibrant and warm atmosphere with the smell which reminiscent of Kerala's cultural richness.
The star of the show is undoubtedly the food โ a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate. Having opted for the traditional Kerala feast, locally known as Sadhya, I was treated to an array of dishes that showcased the culinary prowess of the kitchen. The intricate blend of spices and the use of fresh ingredients truly exemplify the authenticity of Kerala cuisine.
The Kozhuva Fish Fry was a highlight, perfectly crispy on the outside while retaining the succulence of the fish within. Each bite was a burst of coastal flavors, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to using high-quality seafood. Accompanying this, the Alleppey Fish Curry was a fragrant melange of spices, with the right balance of tanginess and spice. The curry enveloped the fish, creating a symphony of taste that lingered on the taste buds.
The generous quantity of each dish was noteworthy, ensuring that patrons leave not just satisfied but also with a lingering desire for more. It's evident that the chefs at Salt Mango Tree take pride in presenting not just a meal but an experience that reflects the culinary heritage of Kerala.
While the atmosphere and food were undeniably praiseworthy, the service further elevated the dining experience. Attentive staff members added a personal touch to the evening, making diners feel welcome and ensuring that their needs were met promptly. This dedication to customer service contributes significantly to the overall positive impression of the restaurant.
However, it's worth mentioning that the pricing might be a deterrent for frequent visits. The slightly elevated cost, although justified by the exceptional taste and quality, may pose a challenge for those on a tighter budget. Despite this, the sheer excellence of the culinary journey makes it a worthwhile indulgence, perhaps reserved for special occasions.
In conclusion, Salt Mango Tree emerges as a haven for those seeking an authentic taste of Kerala in Bangalore. From the delectable Sadhya to the impeccable service, the restaurant manages to capture the essence of Kerala's culinary heritage. While the price may be a consideration, the overall experience makes it a destination worth savoring on those occasions when only the best...
