Visited Cafe Reset recently for a delicious wholesome lunch and sharing my honest thoughts about this fantastic new place. It is a top notch wellness center that focuses on holistic treatments for the mind and the body. Services include a world class gym, a relaxing spa and a superb café. I was extremely thrilled with the rooftop setup that conducts Sunrise & Sunset Yoga sessions, that must be total bliss, wish I could experience that sometime soon.
I was here at the cafe to explore a menu that is carefully, yet beautifully curated by Chef Rohit Koshi in collaboration with Luke Coutinho, celebrity nutritionist and a well known health coach. The stupendous fare from Café Reset is what I was amazed as and sharing some of my views here.
After a drive from Whitefield, in the getting-there hot Bangalore weather, I sat down and cooled myself on a shot of Tendercoconut water, the reset way. It was fresh coconut water, muddled with some mint, a drop of ginger, and date syrup, served with a lemon wedge. It might sound a strange combination, but in entirety it works so well and beautifully. Then came another shot, this time a Slow Pressed Carrot n Lime Blast, and by now I must have realized that things here at Café Reset are not actually what they seem or called. This shot is a blend of slow pressed carrot juice, with coconut and papaya, with a tinge of turmeric and black pepper. This is a great beverage that instantly comforts you, especially that bite into crushed black pepper, which is just what you need to take off the heat this summer.
As if these two shots weren’t enough for the Bangalore summer, I was surprised with yet another shot, but this time the Reset’s version of a solkadhi, which is made with kokum and spiced coconut milk, with the goodness of pomegranate. It surprised me with the beautiful flavours of kokam, perfectly interlaced with the mild coconut milk and spice hit was something that I wasn’t prepared for, but absolutely loved.
It’s true that Salads are my favourite indulgence, it helps me get my dosage of vegetables in a way that I enjoy, crunchy, fresh, creamy, cheesy, and flavourful. Café Reset had just the right selection for me, enhanced with super foods for my indulgence before lunch. Chef’s recommended salad servings were
Roasted Pumpkin & Chia Seeds – Beautifully beechwood smoked pumpkin chunks tossed in a creamy yogurt dressing with broccoli for greens. It is unbelievable what the beachwood smoke can do to make your brain think, bringing out flavours close to smoked bacon for me, though this salad is completely vegetarian, vegan in fact, but the taste, marvelous.
Watermelon & Feta – Delicious fresh cubes of watermelon in balsamic reduction, with feta crumble, a perfect summer treat that’s just right.
Reset Som Tam – Fresh raw Papaya and Mango slivers with carrot and bean sprouts, tossed in an inhouse tangy sauce, with crushed peanuts. A superb crunchy tangy salad that clearly does the happy dance in your palate.
Lettuce Goji Berry & Sprouts – A simple tossed salad of lettuce, goji berries and sprouts in a ginger citrus dressing, a perfect light start to a delicious mess as l
The Red rice & Toor Dal Kichidi is something that I absolutely adored and fell in love with. The Kichidi was perfectly complimented with the addition of crunchy seasonal vegetables. It was a perfect balance of flavour, taste, texture and spice. Chef has successfully managed to recreate something as authentic as a North Indian Kichidi, beautifully as a proper south Indian dish. The Red Rice, works wonderfully with the toor dal and the cumin and curry leaf tadka, just elevates the flavours to true South Indian flavours. The seasonal carrots, beans, and a healthy dose of broccoli cooked just right to retain the crunchiness, and not turn them into a mushy mess. These are simple things, but very important, easily overlooked, but essential to absorb and appreciate.
Do indulge on food here at Cafe Reset you will enjoy the tasty flavours and your body will appreciate the wellness the...
Read moreIt's a bird, it's a plane, it's Superman! On the same note, it's gym, it's a spa, it's a cafe, it's Cafe Reset! I do call this a Super Place. Cafe Reset, as mentioned has four floors and you can open its door for a sustainable and healthy living. You have yoga, spa and a gym with functional training along with delicious food which is again, light on the stomach with amazing conceptualization. Well, all this is under one roof.
Me being a foodie, let me talk what I walked in here for. I cannot tell that it's a health cafe and only keto dishes are available. The food has been amazingly customised according to Indian palate, kudos to Chef Rohan and team for the amazing Vegetarian dishes.
Starting with some smoothies, I had a Banana and watermelon smoothie which is pretty regular for a health place. Something which drew my attention here is the Cafe Reset's take on the beautiful solkadi and made it fantastic. The humble beverage of Solkhadi which is primarily kokum is a bit toned down and just has an after taste, this Solkhadi is given bits of pepper and balanced with coconut milk, what a beverage to start with!
Hearing the name salads, I get bored but Chef Rohan made it pretty exciting. The Som Tam is so soothing, papaya and nuts in the right proportion with acidity as much as required and hence it is refreshing. Lettuce, Gojiberry and Sprouts Salad, this has a bit of ginger in the dressing and builds up around the sprouts and berries, for green sald people, this is my recommendation.
Welcome the small plates. We had the Chilli cheese toast. Sour dough bread was used, mix of mozarella and cheddar on the bread, this turns the table when green chillies act on along with the flakes. We had a flatbread which replaced pizza. Square in shape and here sour dough was used again, which is made from multi grains and not just the multi purpose floor. Flatbread was again given a half and half, one was pesto based, in house pesto, olives, parmesan and mozarella, given a glaze of olive oil. The other half had a tomato base. Well, we had a Rissotto to conclude and this did not at all make us heavy. The Fungi Rissotto was beautiful with three kinds of mushrooms and cooked to perfection.
One thing I noticed here is the beautiful cutlery in the place, from soapstone plates to the bowls, they are beautiful. An amazing place to relax with...
Read moreCafe Reset one stop for health, fitness and recreation !! As you enter what you find is a lot of space, very well designed cafe with huge glass walls for natural lights. It's also well planned for all kind of fitness activities and also to relax they have spa and Jacuzzi.
Icing on top is the healthy food cafe. Isn't that multi purpose club House?
We were here for the launch and tried their healthy food from the cafe:
✅ Tender coconut with mint and lemon - healthy start
✅Beetroot sesame dip - with roasted red peppers & flaxseed oatmeal crackers : I loved the cracker thou it was gluten free it was definitely delicious with the dip.
🌽Street hawker sweet corn ribs -with Bangkok Tom yam spice : probably only dish that i had with b burst of flavours in the cafe. The spice definitely elevated the otherwise humble corn.
✅Za'atar manakish flat bread with hummus & sumac - this freshly baked bread was like pita bread and hummus to compliment it well.
🍝Whole wheat spaghetti with broccoli and mozzarella - it was delicious and flavoursome. And the fact that it's healthy is all that matters.
✅Fiery green curry with raw banana, banana stem and moringa served with red rice- a healthy version of Thai green curry and rice. It was very mild flavoured but banana stem has a lot of health benefits so this is good for health.
✅Cinnamon hot chocolate truffle: raw brownie with sunflower seeds & goji berry, this was mushy and soft with generous cinnamon used in it, there was slightly over powering other flavours. Thou a great snack to much on.
Overall a lovely place to hang out with recreation activities also being available.
Reset, rejuvenation and wellness - your one stop solution for various needs.
