Chianti in Bellandur has a deserted air most of the time - in stark contrast to Third Wave Coffee Roasters located opposite. It was only a couple of weeks ago that I discovered that it was very much in operation and had great reviews. We dropped in for lunch one day and were pleasantly surprised at the food on offer. Chianti provides you with the ingredients and a self help guide to make your own Bruschetta. We started our meal feeling very self-satisfied with our efforts at Bruschetta making and it didn't taste bad either! Chianti also gives you a free bread basket to accompany your meal. The breads were warm, soft and fragrant and paired with some lovely herbed butter. Our Entrée or Antipasti, as the Italians like to call it, consisted of Crostini Con Carne or in layman's language, Toast topped with Ricotta Cheese and Parma Ham. Quite delicious. We followed this up with a Pasta - Fettuccine Siciliana, to be precise, which translates to Fettuccine with garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, red chillies and basil in a tomato sauce with chicken. It was so-so. The sauce was quite excessive and the Italian herbs were a bit overpowering. Next on our plate was the Braciole Di Maiale Alla Griglia or the Grilled Pork Chops with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables in a red wine jus. It was all cooked to perfection. My only complaint if at all, was that the meat tasted a trifle old. The grand finale or the Dolce was the Tiramisu which was out of the world! I would recommend Chianti if you are keen on a flavourful and filling...

Read moreSo happy about Chianti opening so close to home. Went there for dinner and started with their Crosstini with Parm Ham and Chicken. Before the order came in, they got us this plate with assortments to "Make your own Bruschetta" and that was a fun addition to the evening. The Crosstini was delicious to say the least. The combination of Parm Ham and Chicken was simple amazing and with 2 slices each for one person, that was a good portion. Their iced teas are one of the best as it's clear they're not just those over sweetened pour the mix from the bottle types. For the mains, we ordered Fettuccini with Prosciutto and Mushrooms in white cream sauce and Pork Chops in Cranberry Sauce with Pea Puree, Honeyed Carrots and Polenta. These are fine dining quality in terms of presentation, taste and the quality of ingredients. I loved the pasta and my fiance couldn't stop gorging on the creamy polenta and the chops done so well. The meat was cooked just right with it falling off the bones which is my opinion are the right kind of chops. For the dessert, we had a Tiramisu which was accompanied with an almond biscotti and it's clearly one of the best tiramisu I've eaten. It had this coffee later that balanced out the sweetness and that's my favorite kind of dessert. Something that doesn't leave my mouth overly sweet.
The service was outstanding. Will definitely go there again. Perfect for those...
