Our experience was very bad. We went with high expectations. Our friends had been there in the past so based on their recommendations, we went along. Initially there was a wait to get into the restaurant. They told 15 mins and it was acceptable. We got our table or rather rope bed, (which by the way is good to see but after ten mins it gets very uncomfortable) anywz that was fine. Nothing to complain there. Its their theme. The typical punjabi village theme . Anyways so we placed our order. We had ordered for 3 starters. We got one starter and then we had to wait for at least 15 to 20 mins for the other two starters to arrive. This was nothing. It was just the trailer. Picture tho abhi baaki thi. Then we had to wait for around 45 mins or may be more for the main course to arrive. We had initially insisted repeatedly to get the biryani at the earliest as the kids were very hungry but after 45 mins of getting our part order, biryani was missing, the rotis were missing. There was another wait if 5-10 mins. Oh there was one oldie, who was waitering, he looked like those ex- servicemen who have a ghamand of their own that all is fine and nothing is wrong with their service and not hospitable at all. It felt as though ahsaan kar rahe hai. I felt so insulting. We were all very annoyed with the delay so i was just casually talking to my friend mentioning their reviews r going down as the months pass by. One month back someone had given 2 star. I also added that one waiter came and justified the delay but did not apologize. This oldie was eavesdropping on our talks and heard all this. Inspire of that, he did not apologize, he mentioned it to another incharge. This guy instantly came to us and asked can we take your group photo for our social media account as though trying to please us for the delay. We denied. Overall, our experience was very bad more like disheartening. Also, another point which I missed out was, I got the vibe of the waiters being male chauvinist. My friend and me were conversing regarding the food and stuff but they replied only to my male friend as though considering him as the single point of contact for anything. The ambience is fine, seating was slightly uncomfortable but can be ignored. They served in steel plates, and just a local normal average looking steel plate. I personally felt that as a huge turn off. I felt, whatever is the theme, atleast the dining experience should be good. Even in steel, they could have invested on some good quality, stylish looking plates, if not crockery. I would definitely not visit there again. I felt, even if we give them benefit of doubt, that they misplaced the order, atleast the waiter, esp the oldie should have been cordial, apologetic and humble. Humans are prone to errors but the behavior of the waiters...

Read moreI went recently and honestly, it left me feeling kind of disappointed, especially considering all the hype. Here’s how it is, broken down:
What Works Decently • The idea is good: a dhaba-style setup, desi ambience, traditional food — all things people expect from a place with that name, with a scope of improvement. • Dishes have decent taste; you can tell there’s an attempt at authentic flavours, spices, etc.
What Doesn’t Really Hit • The food is pretty average. There’s nothing that stands out — no dish that gives a “wow” moment. Compared to what I’ve had in the past, it’s milder, less fresh or less balanced than expected.
• Service is too slow. Wait times are long, even when the place isn’t fully packed. Staff seem overwhelmed or understaffed. Requests take time to be acknowledged.
• Noise level: The place is very loud — chatter, clatter – all combined make it hard to hold a conversation comfortably. If you came for a peaceful meal or date, this isn’t it.
• Value for money? The pricing is over-priced relative to what you get. Portion sizes feel okay, but flavours, presentation, timing do not justify the cost.
• Ambience vs. expectations: Because it’s in Indiranagar and people rave about it, you expect a slightly elevated dhaba experience. But the ambience (though decently decorated) doesn’t match up to the “actual dhaba” image many are projecting.
Important Observations • The location is good — Indiranagar gives it visibility and footfall, so people expect a certain standard. Possibly that expectation is part of why folks keep hyping it.
• There are a lot of choices around — other dhabas or North Indian / Punjabi-style places. Comparisons are inevitable, and here, it falls behind many in terms of service speed and value.
It’s an okay place for when you want desi flavour and a casual meal. But it’s definitely not what it used to be (if you’ve been there earlier), and not worth following the hype blindly. If you’re not too fussed, want something nearby, and don’t mind paying more than what you feel you get, go. Otherwise, there are better...
